If your background/experience has included providing electrical maintenance and troubleshooting support to any of the following submarine systems: All S&D systems, Electrical Hydraulic Plant systems (S&D, Ships Service, and External), TD241 Depth Control Systems, Trim and Drain Flow Meter, Motor Controllers, Ballast Control Panel, Ship's Control Panel, Pressure and Temperature Switches, CO2 Scrubber and Burners, AC Plant (electrical), and other electrical auxiliary equipment, then you may be the right fit for a position with our company.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering/technical assistance, evaluations, assessments, grooms, tests, inspections, operational checks (underway, surfaced, submerged), and training in support of HM&E and peripheral systems
- The primary focus area is Steering and Diving (S&D) electrical to include rudder, stern planes, fair-water planes, and bow planes for 688 Class and VA class submarines
- Troubleshoot, restore, and replace faulty or defective components in S&D and other Electrical components in HM&E systems, equipment, and related peripheral systems; Including testing, alignment, and restoration to normal operation
- Conduct fault analysis and the assembly and disassembly of units and subsystems
- Evaluate, assess, and provide maintenance training to Ship's Force
- Provide input for Technical Assistance Visit Reports (TAVRs) IAW the JFMM requirements for each onboard tech assist
- Provide Total Ship Readiness Assessment (TSRA), operational, and maintenance assessment support, and over-the-shoulder training to Ship's Force on HM&E systems, equipment, and related peripheral systems
- Specialized Experience: Seven (7) years of full-time engineering experience in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, and/or repair of submarine mechanical and/or electrical and/or electronic systems/equipment
- Experience in evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementation of corrective action
- General Experience: Seven (7) years of full-time technical experience in the design, installation, test, and/or repair of electrical systems/equipment
- Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.
- Prior experience working with the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC)
- Experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repair of:

Description
GENERAL SUMMARY: Proficient in fit up, brazing, assembly, and installation of piping systems and components onboard US Naval submarines and ships as well as off hull fabrication efforts.
LOCATION: Norfolk, VA.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs shipboard fit up, brazing, and assembly of piping systems and components in support of installation, repair, and maintenance efforts.
- Performs fit up, brazing, and assembly in support of off hull fabrication efforts.
- Responsible for layout, templating, and targeting piping for both brazing and welding applications.
- Assists welders and mechanics with fit up and/or installation of piping, structural, and mechanical components.
- Performs fit up, brazing, assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance in accordance with Technical Work Documents (e.g. QAWBs, Maintenance Standards, & Technical Manuals) and associated drawings.
- Responsible for documenting requisite inspections, brazing, and mechanical joint assembly efforts in both the Technical Work Document and on associated Objective Quality Evidence Forms.
- Responsible for selection and control of brazing filler material, joint design, and brazing rig setup in accordance with the Technical Work Document and company Quality Assurance Procedures.
- Expected to work well both independently and in a team setting.
- Follows all applicable federal, state, local, and company safety regulations during performance of work.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in performing brazing operations, fit up, and assembly of piping systems in support of installation, repair, and overhaul efforts on US Naval vessels; or completion of a formal related course of study through either a community college, technical or trade school, military training, formal company training program, or an apprenticeship program.
- Proficient in performing both Face Fed and Insert Ring brazing operations for Grade III, IV, and V alloys.
- Proficient in performing pipe bending utilizing hand, mechanical, and pneumatic pipe benders for completing 3D and 5D pipe bends.
- Experience with performing setup, operation, and adjustment of brazing rig (e.g. torch, lines, bottles, gauges, flowmeter) and associated hand/power tools.
- Submarine experience and experience with SUBSAFE, DSS-SOC, and/or LEVEL I systems and components is preferred.
- Experience working in shipyards and ship repair environments.
- Must possess the ability to read, understand, and interpret Technical Work Documents and drawings.
- Must possess understanding and working knowledge of the basic math (e.g. geometry, addition, subtraction) required for bending, targeting, and installing piping systems and components.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required on a regular basis to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and/or hear.
- Frequently the employee is required to carry objects that might weigh up to 50 pounds.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required.
- Prospective employees must be a US Citizen and capable of passing both a Criminal Background Check and a Drug Screen.
- Current SECRET Level Security Clearance is required.
