**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Serve as the Technical Lead and manage teams of Consultants for one or more commercial projects to ensure effective negotiations, well-aligned solution-delivery-to-plan, clear engagement governance accountabilities, profitability, and overall client satisfaction.
+ Enrich client partnering and anticipate client needs based on a solid understanding of emerging industry requirements and/or technological breakthroughs in Technology Consulting including Agile Methodologies, DevOps Automation, Enterprise Software Applications, and Large-scale distributed systems.
+ Ensures the appropriate alignment and collaboration of consulting teams and individuals to support project requirements and activities in the focus area and within larger Cognizant and client ecosystems including Collaboration & Influence, Cross-functional teamwork, Organizational transformation, Technology Strategic design, and Strategic division.

+ Advocate for and establish appropriate recognition for Consulting within projects and negotiate applicable consultant rates in project sizing that correspond to the value Consultants contribute to engagements.
+ Develop and manage the capture, communication, and sharing of intellectual property (IP) and project artifacts for a focus area, domain area, or practice management area.
+ Exercise leadership in the development of Consulting service offerings.
+ Support and contribute to the establishment of thought leadership in the industry, to promote Cognizant's brand and to drive additional opportunities for Cognizant.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Demonstrates thought leadership, e.g.: Guides/upskill other engineers and clients in cloud best practices; demonstrate expertise with automation and infrastructure as code (IaC).
+ Deep understanding of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP and how to leverage them (certifications a plus).
+ Past enterprise level experience in DevOps, Software, Infrastructure or Site Reliability Engineering.
+ Proficient in infrastructure as code practices using technologies such as CDK, KPT, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, AWS CloudFormation, and/or SaltStack.
+ Proficient in one or more enterprise scale observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, FluentD, ELK.
+ Ability to document solutions, cloud architectural patterns, and best practices to ensure that clients have guidance as needed.
+ Proven ability to partner with cloud hyperscale partners to define and troubleshoot cloud architectures and service enablements.
+ Experience maintaining and improving the reliability of applications and infrastructure.
+ Hands on experience developing and improving all phases of the software development/delivery lifecycle.
+ Experience building CI/CD pipelines from scratch.
+ Strong grasp of container technology including container orchestration with tools such as Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker Swarm, Nomad or similar.
+ Solid understanding of Microservices and API.
+ Eager to problem solve and troubleshoot issues that may arise day to day.
**WORK AUTHORIZATION**

**SALARY AND OTHRE COMPENSATION**
The annual salary for this position is between **$122,400 - $194,000** depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.

What you will do
Key Responsibilities
- Independently Lead and execute a portfolio of Innovation (NPD) or Life Cycle Management (LCM) projects. Emphasis will be on delivering projects on-time, within budget in a compliant and reliable manner

As a Manager, Wellness Project Management, you will represent Optum Workplace Well-being at our client to execute several projects and programs within Benefits and Wellness. The Senior Director, Project Management Innovative Medicines (IM) is a seasoned, recognized leader proficient in the planning, design, construction, start-up and commissioning of large capital programs/projects. This role will partner with E&PS and sector leaders to deliver high visibility capital design and construction programs critical for business growth by driving a consistent, scalable, and standardized approach across the enterprise to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in diverse cultures and regions. In pursuit of this vision, this individual will lead project teams in the front-end loading stages of the project including making and documenting project assessments, analysis, and decisions during initial stages of the program.
This individual will then lead the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of major capital design and construction projects for Innovative Medicines ensuring consistency with business strategy, commitments and goals. This includes ideation, definition, execution and assessment of the project, securing appropriate internal / external resources and successful stakeholder management. Due to the global span and complexity of facilities across Johnson & Johnson, the Senior Director will rely on J&J knowledge and technical experience to identify and mitigate end-to-end program risks specifically when executing complex construction-related activities within operating manufacturing sites, warehouses or distribution centers, office buildings and laboratories.
This role will have responsibility for approximately $1.5B - $.5B project portfolio over the next 3-5 years.
The individual will work across E&PS functions (including Facilities, Real Estate, Engineering & Design, Project Controls, Construction Safety and C&Q) and will partner with internal customers to align on investment priorities, support business case development, and manage performance against defined objectives and outcomes for the project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, direction and support of large strategic critical capital design and construction programs team(s) to ensure they stay on plan. This includes resolving resource conflicts, removing obstacles, enabling collaboration, and promoting effective communications.
- Partners with the Project Management Functional Excellence Teams to provide leadership for any major strategic capital investment initiative by obtaining agreement on program and/or project definitions, scope, and priorities. Ensures that adequate and required resources, capabilities and processes are in place. Presents plans to approach strategic programs and/or projects to senior management stakeholders. Assembles and coordinates project teams and manages project resource allocation.
- Partners with the PM Functional Excellence Teams to ensure IDEA and FPX processes and tools are properly followed and that metrics for Engineering and Project Management are met and plans are in place to provide continuous improvement, through the adoption of best practices on Engineering and Design, Construction Management, Construction Safety and C&Q. Ensures collaboration across other functional areas, establishing effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Partners with the Projects Controls Leads and Project Managers to assess as needed, project status, budget, schedules, TDI, etc., conduct formal project evaluations and develop action plans.
- Obtains agreement on project definitions, scope, and priorities, and ensures that resources, capabilities, and processes are in place.
- Tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools. Monitors and reports progress of projects to all stakeholders and provides status reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
- Implements and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.

- Prior experience managing and delivering major capital programs/projects is required (> 200MM).
- Working knowledge of Project Controls in cost and schedule development and financial assessments is required.
- Manufacturing experience in FDA regulated environments to include design through startup is required.

The Senior Director, Project Management - Innovative Medicines (IM) is a seasoned, recognized leader proficient in the planning, design, construction, start-up and commissioning of large capital programs/projects. This role will partner with E&PS and sector leaders to deliver high visibility capital design and construction programs critical for business growth by driving a consistent, scalable, and standardized approach across the enterprise to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in diverse cultures and regions. In pursuit of this vision, this individual will lead project teams in the front-end loading stages of the project including making and documenting project assessments, analysis, and decisions during initial stages of the program.
This individual will then lead the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of major capital design and construction projects for Innovative Medicines ensuring consistency with business strategy, commitments and goals. This includes ideation, definition, execution and assessment of the project, securing appropriate internal / external resources and successful stakeholder management. Due to the global span and complexity of facilities across Johnson & Johnson, the Senior Director will rely on J&J knowledge and technical experience to identify and mitigate end-to-end program risks specifically when executing complex construction-related activities within operating manufacturing sites, warehouses or distribution centers, office buildings and laboratories.
This role will have responsibility for approximately $1.5B - $.5B project portfolio over the next 3-5 years.
The individual will work across E&PS functions (including Facilities, Real Estate, Engineering & Design, Project Controls, Construction Safety and C&Q) and will partner with internal customers to align on investment priorities, support business case development, and manage performance against defined objectives and outcomes for the project portfolio.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Provides leadership, direction and support of large strategic critical capital design and construction programs team(s) to ensure they stay on plan. This includes resolving resource conflicts, removing obstacles, enabling collaboration, and promoting effective communications.
+ Partners with the Project Management Functional Excellence Teams to provide leadership for any major strategic capital investment initiative by obtaining agreement on program and/or project definitions, scope, and priorities. Ensures that adequate and required resources, capabilities and processes are in place. Presents plans to approach strategic programs and/or projects to senior management stakeholders. Assembles and coordinates project teams and manages project resource allocation.
+ Partners with the PM Functional Excellence Teams to ensure IDEA and FPX processes and tools are properly followed and that metrics for Engineering and Project Management are met and plans are in place to provide continuous improvement, through the adoption of best practices on Engineering and Design, Construction Management, Construction Safety and C&Q. Ensures collaboration across other functional areas, establishing effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
+ Partners with the Projects Controls Leads and Project Managers to assess as needed, project status, budget, schedules, TDI, etc., conduct formal project evaluations and develop action plans.
+ Obtains agreement on project definitions, scope, and priorities, and ensures that resources, capabilities, and processes are in place.
+ Tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools. Monitors and reports progress of projects to all stakeholders and provides status reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.

Due to the global span and complexity of facilities across Johnson & Johnson, the Senior Director will rely on J&J knowledge and technical experience to identify and mitigate end-to-end program risks specifically when executing complex construction-related activities within operating manufacturing sites, warehouses or distribution centers, office buildings and laboratories.
This role will have responsibility for approximately $1.5B - $.5B project portfolio over the next 3-5 years.
The individual will work across E&PS functions (including Facilities, Real Estate, Engineering & Design, Project Controls, Construction Safety and C&Q) and will partner with internal customers to align on investment priorities, support business case development, and manage performance against defined objectives and outcomes for the project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides leadership, direction and support of large strategic critical capital design and construction programs team(s) to ensure they stay on plan. This includes resolving resource conflicts, removing obstacles, enabling collaboration, and promoting effective communications.
Partners with the Project Management Functional Excellence Teams to provide leadership for any major strategic capital investment initiative by obtaining agreement on program and/or project definitions, scope, and priorities. Ensures that adequate and required resources, capabilities and processes are in place. Presents plans to approach strategic programs and/or projects to senior management stakeholders. Assembles and coordinates project teams and manages project resource allocation.
Partners with the PM Functional Excellence Teams to ensure IDEA and FPX processes and tools are properly followed and that metrics for Engineering and Project Management are met and plans are in place to provide continuous improvement, through the adoption of best practices on Engineering and Design, Construction Management, Construction Safety and C&Q. Ensures collaboration across other functional areas, establishing effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
Partners with the Projects Controls Leads and Project Managers to assess as needed, project status, budget, schedules, TDI, etc., conduct formal project evaluations and develop action plans.
Obtains agreement on project definitions, scope, and priorities, and ensures that resources, capabilities, and processes are in place.
Tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools. Monitors and reports progress of projects to all stakeholders and provides status reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
Implements and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.

Ensures application of standards and best practices set by the Engineering & Project Management Functional Excellence Teams (FETs).
Possesses a full working knowledge of Project Management processes required in the design and execution of field construction activities including but not limited to quality, project controls, and commissioning / qualification of FDA and other agency regulated facilities including regulations governing product manufacturing or importation.
Engages senior leadership as needed to address program conflicts, confirm/clarify executive expectations and/or align on strategic direction of the program.
Develops personal objectives that support the overall company goals.

As a Senior Leader in E&PS Project Management organization, collaborate in establishing plans for talent development, diversification, and professional development of the different groups.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree is required with a strong preference in Engineering, Design or Construction Management from an accredited institution is required.
Multiple and/or elevated degree(s) is preferred.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
Required:
A minimum of 15 years of relative business experience and project management is required including all aspects of Engineering & Design, Construction Management, Project Controls, Project Portfolio Management, Commissioning, Qualification and Operational Readiness.
Prior experience managing and delivering major capital programs/projects is required (>$200MM).
Working knowledge of Project Controls in cost and schedule development and financial assessments is required.
Manufacturing experience in FDA regulated environments to include design through startup is required.
Experience managing cost and budgets is required.
Experience in leading groups and developing individuals within an organization is required.
Preferred:
A minimum of 15 years of relative business experience and project delivery is required including all aspects of Engineering & Design, Construction Management, Project Controls, Project Portfolio Management, Commissioning, Qualification and Operational Readiness.
Project Management Certification or Degree.
Familiar with J&J IDEA Process.
Familiar with Front-End Loading Best Practices.
LEED AP certification is preferred.
Familiarity with J&J Project Management approaches (FPX & Project Delivery Process).
Experience in tracking technology and industry trends.
Experience in leading diverse, multicultural teams.
Experience in supporting J&J Supply Chain, Commercial and R&D organizations.

About the role
The Sr. Dir of Project Management is a senior leadership role within a Business Development team, focused on managing a portfolio of 10-20 simultaneous greenfield (new site) development projects-from early planning through to construction and handover to operations. It requires high-level program management, team leadership, cross-functional coordination, and risk and budget control. The scope includes infrastructure growth, with frequent travel and strong technical oversight.

What you will do:
1. Leadership & Team Building
- Lead a multi-member PM team (growing headcount).
- Likely involved in hiring, coaching, and mentoring project managers.
- Emphasis on high performance and accountability.
2. Project Portfolio Management
- Oversee 10-20 concurrent projects.
- Coordinate all project phases: planning, permitting, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and turnover.

3. Budget & Financial Oversight

- Control costs, track expenditures, and seek savings.
4. Progress Tracking & Reporting

5. Risk & Compliance Management
- Address safety, permitting, regulatory, and environmental risks.

- Must bridge the gap between technical specs and real-world execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Engineering or Business; Master's preferred (MBA or science).
- 10+ years in project management; preferably with experience leading project development for facility or site development.
- Strong leadership, construction knowledge, permitting familiarity, PM tools proficiency, cost management, and stakeholder communication.
- Travel:30-40% travel required.
- Tools: Microsoft Office and project management platforms (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet).
- Safety: OSHA familiarity a plus, not a must.
