Nurse for Summer Academic Enrichment Programs:

Monday -Thursday from June 30th, 2025 through August 14th, 2025.

Essential Functions:

* Review all health forms for student participants prior to the start of the summer program.
* Communicate with parents/guardians as needed to ensure that medical forms and records are accurate and up-to-date (i.e. immunization records, medications, physical, etc.).
* Inform the staff members (Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Coordinators, Field Trip chaperones, etc.) of program participants under their supervision who have medical needs.
* Provide training to staff members on an as-needed basis (i.e. EpiPen delegate training).
* Monitor students with medical issues daily.
* Administer medication to students daily (as needed).
* Attend to sick or injured students.

Additional Functions:

* Attend planning meetings and student orientation before the start of summer programs.

Prerequisite Qualifications:

* Current CPR, First Aid, AED certification.
* Current Registered Nursing License.
* At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Salary Information:

In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate/range for this position is $35.00-$40.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary function of a Custodian is to ensure the proper upkeep/maintenance of assigned area within a facility. JOB SPECIFICATIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

There are frequent interruptions, changing priorities, heavy duty lifting, extensive walking and occasional work in inclement weather (rain, snow, sleet, hail, etc.). Work may require climbing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions of hands, fingers, arms, and legs. Work may require climbing stairs/metal grate flooring. There is exposure to various amounts of dust and dirt, bodily waste (i.e. urine and feces), obnoxious odors, cleaning chemicals, heights (on occasion in excess of 72"), potential electrical hazards, and use of heavy duty, high powered
cleaning equipment.

Custodial work requires the exertion of up to 20-40 pounds of force occasionally, up to 15 pounds frequently, and a reasonable amount of force daily to move objects; work requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lift grasping, and repetitive motions; visual accuracy is required for determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work; the custodian is subject to hazards and atmospheric conditions.

Knowledge of all standard cleaning procedures/methods, materials and equipment. Knowledge of the proper operation of most commonly used cleaning equipment (i.e. buffers, floor scrubbers, wet vacs, vacuums, etc.) Ability to read and comprehend all verbal and/or written directives. Ability to use sound judgment and make independent decisions when necessary. Ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with coworkers, school administration, all levels of supervision, students and parents as deemed necessary. Ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with students and parents if necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Possession of a high school diploma or GED. Minimum six months experience in a custodial position, one year preferred.
