Production Supervisor

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Supervisor will work to ensure that plant is producing material throughout the day by controlling the automated system, running heavy equipment, executing preventative and minor maintenance, housekeeping, loading material and running the mills. The Production Supervisor will work closely with management and other departs to ensure the successful operation of plant equipment. The employee will have contact with Customers and Vendors and is expected to act with Amrize's best interests in mind.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Perform start-up, normal operation, and shutdown of the referenced systems.
  • Perform equipment inspection, preventative and minor maintenance as well as general housekeeping and miscellaneous tasks associated with production.
  • Execute quality checks to ensure the mill is operating within quality specifications and that inventory levels are maintained.
  • Operates mobile equipment to ensure piles are maintained and the dryer and mills are fed.
  • Will need to run a forklift, skid steer, sucker truck, and sweeper for housekeeping and miscellaneous tasks
  • Initiate the daily activities of the Granulation, dryer, and finish mills to meet plant demands.
  • The daily plan will be delivered by the Production Coordinator.
  • Perform routine quality checks and adjust mill operations to stay within set parameters.
  • Works closely with Maintenance, Distribution, Quality, and process to meet plant KPI.
  • Ensure effective troubleshooting of any problems in the department and report findings to the Production Coordinator.
  • Works with the Maintenance Inspector/Coordinator.
  • Follows the union labor agreement within the Production department.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Associates/College Degree
Additional Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in technical field is preferred or relative experience.

Preferred field of study: Mechanic/Electric/Computer Science

Required Work Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years related experience with demonstrated progression of increased responsibility, with at least 5 of those years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in a cement plant or other heavy industry is highly preferred.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

Required Computer and Software Skills: Solid computer skills (Excel, Word, TIS, SAP, Maximo, Lotus Notes etc.)
Travel Requirements: Some travel throughout the immediate area

Additional Requirements:
  • Computer skills, general working knowledge, as well as the ability to learn new software programs as required to operate the mill and other essential functions.
  • Good Communications Skills
  • Normal working hours are 12 hour rotating shifts
  • Heavy machine operation a plus
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Production Supervisor

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Supervisor will work to ensure that plant is producing material throughout the day by controlling the automated system, running heavy equipment, executing preventative and minor maintenance, housekeeping, loading material and running the mills. The Production Supervisor will work closely with management and other departs to ensure the successful operation of plant equipment. The employee will have contact with Customers and Vendors and is expected to act with Amrize's best interests in mind.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Perform start-up, normal operation, and shutdown of the referenced systems.
  • Perform equipment inspection, preventative and minor maintenance as well as general housekeeping and miscellaneous tasks associated with production.
  • Execute quality checks to ensure the mill is operating within quality specifications and that inventory levels are maintained.
  • Operates mobile equipment to ensure piles are maintained and the dryer and mills are fed.
  • Will need to run a forklift, skid steer, sucker truck, and sweeper for housekeeping and miscellaneous tasks
  • Initiate the daily activities of the Granulation, dryer, and finish mills to meet plant demands.
  • The daily plan will be delivered by the Production Coordinator.
  • Perform routine quality checks and adjust mill operations to stay within set parameters.
  • Works closely with Maintenance, Distribution, Quality, and process to meet plant KPI.
  • Ensure effective troubleshooting of any problems in the department and report findings to the Production Coordinator.
  • Works with the Maintenance Inspector/Coordinator.
  • Follows the union labor agreement within the Production department.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Associates/College Degree
Additional Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in technical field is preferred or relative experience.

Preferred field of study: Mechanic/Electric/Computer Science

Required Work Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years related experience with demonstrated progression of increased responsibility, with at least 5 of those years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in a cement plant or other heavy industry is highly preferred.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

Required Computer and Software Skills: Solid computer skills (Excel, Word, TIS, SAP, Maximo, Lotus Notes etc.)
Travel Requirements: Some travel throughout the immediate area

Additional Requirements:
  • Computer skills, general working knowledge, as well as the ability to learn new software programs as required to operate the mill and other essential functions.
  • Good Communications Skills
  • Normal working hours are 12 hour rotating shifts
  • Heavy machine operation a plus
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

**Responsibilities**
Position exists to provide technical, quality, procedural and associate leadership on the production shifts.
+ Provides guidance and leadership to production, quality, maintenance and warehouse drivers during shift hours.
+ Ensures adherence to safety, quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Quality Foods (SQF) and ISO standards and programs.

**Qualifications**
+ Tow or more years experience leading a manufacturing department with results proven metrics of success.

The successful applicant will oversee assembly team's daily work assignments, production quality, while driving continuous improvement and safety excellence through coaching of technical, behavioral, and housekeeping competencies to enable Vulcan to deliver high quality Range (stove) products.**
**Responsibilities:**
**Manage and motivate factory team to achieve production targets and maintain high standards of quality and safety. Work a schedule that aligns with production and may start as early as 5:30am. Ensure required daily, weekly, monthly reporting and work plans are prepared to avoid delays. Promote a positive work environment by applying company policies consistently and in a fair manner, and by addressing employee concerns in a confidential manner. Ensure employees (supervised personnel) receive cross training for multiple special skills and positions. Maintain production floor and related areas by using 5S principles and housekeeping rigor. Monitor and review work performance, attendance, and quality of work of employees and take corrective actions in collaboration with Human Resources. Maintain and approve timesheets of direct reports and temporary employees. Prepare and deliver employee performance appraisals and development plans. **Qualifications:**
**Education/Experience**
**Associate or bachelor degree, in Manufacturing or Quality Engineering, Industrial management, Business, or any other engineering/technical area, is preferred.**
**Experience/Skills:**
**Minimum 1 year managerial experience, with preference for manufacturing.** **Strong knowledge of Safety procedures, PPE standards, and driving a safe work culture.** **Understand or have experience with product assembly operations.** **Carry a professional demeanor, work well with anybody, with a skill for conflict resolution. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT**
**Must be able to:**
**Manage shift that starts at 6:00am Mon-Fri, and requires occasional Saturday work Perform activities including bending, stooping, standing, walking.**
**Understand concepts of gas and electrical test stations.**
**Stand and walk from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day.**
**Operate common office equipment (e.g., PC, phone, copier, printer).**
**Use various measuring instruments (e.g., tape measure)**
**Compensation Information:**
$65,120.00 - $97, 680.00 USD
