Job Description

Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining and monitoring manual and computerized inventory control systems for products by analyzing inventory and managing orders. Prepare and provide data used by departments to prepare forecasts and future needs. Assess current inventory levels and order products to specified inventory levels. Anticipate probable delivery issues/failures and take action. Assist operations and administration in identifying low, out of stock or aging situations while maintaining an accurate and updated book inventory. Ensure product availability by analyzing inventory, managing orders, and collaborating with internal and external teams to balance stock levels and meet customer demand. Manage replenishment proposals, minimizing stockouts and overstocks through exception-based management, and collaborating with buyers, planners, and operations to align inventory with sales and promotions.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
+ Plan, prepare and place orders and make all adjustments with suppliers on a timely basis
+ Track and expedite orders
+ Review probable shortages and take action to remedy situation
+ Work with management to determine special needs, situations, or changes required for ordering or delivering of product
+ Assist in daily reporting on inventory levels to Department Supervisor/Manager, generating monthly sales and inventory reports, and generating other reports as required
+ Coordinate inventory management to attain all products in stock
+ Analysis and standardizing statistical information for warehouse production
+ Traffic and logistic knowledge of inbound cargo
+ Monitor Balanced stocks
+ Consistent Communication with Suppliers and Clients
+ Prepare and manage forecasts
+ Any other projects or duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business or 2 years of minimum office inventory experience
+ Experience managing multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a sense of urgency
+ Ability to learn new systems quickly and create improved efficiency
+ Effective communication, writing and grammar skills, basic math, Attention to detail
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office with Advanced knowledge in excel
+ Strong analytical skills
+ Proficiency with inventory management systems
+ Fully bilingual English/Spanish

Summary: The Supply Chain Buyer is responsible for maintaining the appropriate customer service levels (fill rates), the efficient use of the Company’s inventory assets (turns), and communications with the S.P. Richards Branches and / or vendors for which responsibility is assigned.

  • Creating purchase orders to facilitate the timely replenishment of the Distribution Centers
  • Communicating with both assigned vendors and/or SPR branches to ensure smooth flow of information and goods
