Greet patients and escort them to exam room.
Review patient’s medical history and determine the reason for their visit. Alert physician and nursing staff regarding any patient drug allergies or medical changes since their last visit.

Prepare patient for cosmetic injectable/laser treatments.

Primary assistant to surgeon with minor in-office procedures and treatments.
Wash & sterilize surgical instruments daily and in a timely fashion. Maintain safety standards of autoclave equipment and maintenance on devices as needed.
Take pre & post procedure patient photos and download them into patient’s chart.
Drop off specimens to pathology/LabCorp as needed. Responsible for obtaining pathology results and reporting these results to surgeon.
Maintain inventory of office and medical supplies.
Update and review surgical binder on a weekly basis to ensure pre-procedure requirements are being met.
Conduct pre-op calls and one-week post-op check-ins for surgery patients. During pre-op calls and check-ins, ensure patients have proper prescriptions as needed.
Conduct post-operative surgical appointments as directed by Dr. Few
Call in prescription medication for pre-procedure or post-op needs, as determined by clinical staff or surgeon.
Accompany surgeon during patient appointments and assist with visit as needed. Responsible for disposing of any syringes, needles, medical supplies, post appointment. Ensure that bio-hazard waste has been disposed of properly and sanitize room in-between patient appointments.
Point of contact for all surgical patients. Responsible for maintaining contact and providing clinical and emotional support to patients until he/she has signed up for surgery and for one year post operatively. Responsible for answering clinical questions to the best of your ability or advancing the questions to the clinical staff/surgeon as needed to maintain patient care and safety.
Ensuring every surgical patient has a pre-op/post-op appointment scheduled and subsequently conducting the appointment with the patient.
Collaborate with patients and their healthcare team to ensure that the appropriate medical clearance is received prior to surgery.
Prepare paper treatment sheets for Dr. Few’s in-office procedures and treatments weekly. Ensure all consents are signed prior to patient visit as needed.
Handle patient phone calls/email inquiries (addressing clinical items only).
Close down/open rooms with other staff members on a rotating basis, ensuring that exam rooms are adequately stocked for the following day. Rooms will also be set up for next day procedures (i.e.: Injections, ultherapy, Venus, Coolsculpting, lasers, etc.)
Ensuring each treatment room is appropriately sanitized and compliant with OSHA standards.
Take after hour call when Dr. Few is traveling internationally as needed.
Check AED weekly and document in AED binder.
Assist with administrative tasks delegated by Medical Director and/or Office Manager when needed.

The Pre-op / Post Anesthesia Care Manager is responsible for the complete oversight of Tower Recovery Room. The Manager serves as the clinical oversight for AJRI Perianesthesia service.
