Summary of Job Description:

Oversees the assigned shift surveillance and monitor room operations of all gaming activities, cashier operations and count rooms at Mohegan Sun in accordance with established policies and in compliance with the State of Connecticut/Mohegan Tribe Gaming Compact.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule
  • Advanced working knowledge of all casino game rules, gaming regulations, cheating techniques and other irregular activities
  • Knowledge of surveillance equipment and rules of evidence
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead groups
  • Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) years' experience in a high-volume casino surveillance department
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude or issues of integrity
  • A Surveillance Manager cannot have a Family Member (spouse, domestic partner, child, parent, brother, sister, grandparent, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, first cousin, in-law or co-habitant) who works in: Table Games, Slot, Cashiering, Count Rooms, Race Book, Credit, Security, Accounting, or Marketing Departments of Mohegan Sun. The Director of Regulation may exempt any person from this additional requirement upon a showing of good cause and may limit or condition the terms of such exemption.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, Previous surveillance experience using surveillance equipment and systems, pass an extensive, background check in accordance with Kaw Nation Gaming Commission regulations in order to obtain a gaming license, must be able to take directions well, implement changes, and work within a small, enclosed area with others as a team.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Surveillance Manager, the Surveillance Officer is responsible for observing activities at the Kaw Nation Gaming Facilities for compliance with Federal, State, and Tribal laws and ordinances. The Surveillance Officer, through observation, is to protect the integrity of the facility, all money, and all assets of KGI and Kaw Nation. They also retain and file video records of casino activities in the event the records need to be used for investigations. The job also usually involves submitting written or verbal reports of any theft or suspicious behavior.

Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems. Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or, detecting changes in circumstances or events. Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form. Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with law, regulations, or standards. Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email or in person.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Dependable and attention to detail
  • Operate a closed-circuit surveillance system within all KGI gaming facilities.
  • Observe patrons and employees participating in gaming activities to detect infractions of house and policy rules and regulations.
  • Observe patrons to detect various types of scams, fraud, and other violators as designated by the immediate supervisor.
  • Record irregularities through detailed written reports to supervisor and upper management.
  • Will ensure all KGI gaming facilities are following the Kaw Nation Gaming Ordinance.
  • Prepare daily activity report logs, incident reports and daily inter-departmental surveillance reports.
  • Safeguard all confidential information and always maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Will assist the gaming floor by telephone and two-way radio.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, social perspective, teamwork, high level of integrity and high level of confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliancy and that the department is always running smoothly and effectively.
  • Confidentiality issues are to be discussed with upper management and not be discussed between co-workers at any location.
  • Good computer and reading/writing skills.
  • Public Safety and Security Knowledge, Active listening, Critical thinking
  • Ensures that exceptional internal and external guest service standards are always number one.

  • Be courteous and professional at all times to co-workers, guests, vendors, or anyone you may have contact with while on duty.

**Job Description:**
Allied Universal® is hiring a Surveillance Investigator. The Surveillance Investigator will perform discreet mobile and stationary surveillance of a Claimant to confirm current activities and capabilities to assist with the administration of an Insurance claim.
+ **Must** **possess** **a valid driver's license with at least one year of driving experience**
+ **Private Investigator's license** **required** **prior to applying**
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Conduct independent investigations of insurance claims across a range of coverage types, including workers' compensation, general liability, property and casualty, and disability
+ Utilize various surveillance techniques and equipment to monitor subjects covertly
+ Document and report observations, activities, and any relevant information in a clear and concise manner
+ Collaborate with other investigators and law enforcement agencies as needed to gather information and coordinate efforts
+ Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and ethical standards in conducting surveillance operations
**QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the Allied Universal Investigations' training/orientation course
+ Prior educational or professional exposure to witness interviews or video monitoring
+ Prior educational or professional incident reporting and/or investigations experience
+ Flexibility to work varied and irregular hours/days including weekends and holidays
+ Ability to type reports in Microsoft Word format with minimal grammatical and punctuation errors
+ Proficient in utilizing laptop computers, video cameras and cell phones
+ Capable of maintaining focus and multitasking effectively in a dynamic environment
+ Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations with composure and professionalism
+ Ability to work in a very independent environment
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):**
+ Associate's Degree or higher, preferably in Criminal Justice
+ Security/Loss Prevention experience
+ Military experience
+ Law enforcement experience
+ Prior insurance investigations experience
