The Delta sustainability team believes that setting a bold vision and accelerating our work to deliver sustainable travel experiences and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 is both good for our planet and a business imperative to ensure Delta's long-term success.
The Sustainability Graduate Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in sustainability by working cross-functionally on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.
The Sustainability Intern will work on-site at Delta's World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
Primary Functions:
+ Support efforts to respond to ESG surveys, ratings and rankings prioritized by the Company
+ Help maintain documentation of process flows and procedures around ESG data collection, verification and audit
+ Conduct research on industry trends, regulations, best practices and emerging technologies related to sustainability
+ Benchmark ESG performance and disclosures against industry peers and established standards to identify gaps
+ Assist with implementation of new sustainability initiatives and the development of educational and outreach materials
+ Prepare and present reports on sustainability initiatives, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders and management
+ Act as an advocate for sustainability, raising awareness and promoting sustainable practices both internally and externally
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ Currently enrolled in a master's program at an accredited institution, preferably with a focus on sustainability or business
+ Proactive and able to work independently
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
+ Ability to analyze data, collect information, and utilize tools for data analysis
+ Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and time management skills
+ Able to commit to the duration of the internship timeline: June through August
+ Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
+ Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
+ Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
+ Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

+ Academic background or experience in climate action, data science, environmental studies and/or sustainability
+ Proven work experience in sustainability, environmental management, or a related field
+ Professional background in related field, such as management consulting, audit, or roles with analytical, sustainability, or strategy focuses
+ Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations (CSRD, CA SB261 & SB253), certifications, and reporting frameworks (e.g. Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and the Taskforce on Climate Financial Disclosures (TCFD))
