What you'll be able to do:
· Create and modify tools of different fidelity for the HV and LV bus, power conversion device controls and charging system predictions
· Run sensitivity analyses to understand the design space and tradeoffs
· Work closely with the power electronics, low voltage, charge port, HV and LV electrical distribution system teams to model and improve charge times, power conversion device performance on a vehicle level
· Create vehicle-aligned component and system targets for function, cost, weight and more
· Model improvements with on-road vehicle usage data
· Lead and contribute to design reviews, test plans, and requirements reviews to further optimize vehicle efficiency and performance cross functionally
· Enable effective communications with subsystems and other engineering teams to deliver optimal design solutions
· Support presentations of concepts and status to senior management and internally to Company personnel in an integration and subject matter expert role
You'll have.
· B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
· 2+ years of experience of developing physics-based models for high and low voltage bus dynamics, charging systems, power conversion devices
· 1+ year of testing chargers, power conversion devices
· High proficiency in any of Python/Matlab/Simulink

· Masters or PhD Electrical, Physics, or a related field
· Experience building controls strategies for HV/LV bus dynamics systems
· Experience with Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Jira applications
· Experience with instrumentation and measurement of homologation cycles

As a Power Systems Modeling Engineer you will develop transmission system models used in both real time operations and in transmission planning. These models support the delivery of power to everyone in the ERCOT grid and the planning of billions of dollars of transmission system projects. You will be joining a team that performs industry leading power systems modeling and model management. In power systems modeling you will develop real-time operational models in conjunction with ERCOT transmission service providers. You will also help improve system modeling processes and develop software tools to manage and validate model data. Good communication skills will be needed as this role will involve working with numerous internal and external stakeholders to build transmission system models.
**ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES**
Network Model Development
+ Develops operations models from the Network Model Management System (NMMS)
+ Works with the Network Data Support Working Group (NDSWG) members on operational model data exchange and transmission network model maintenance in NMMS
+ Reviews generator and transmission equipment data submitted by resource entities and works with resource entities to correct invalid model data
Modeling Application Support
+ Manages transmission system model software infrastructure and develops tools to assist in managing transmission models which includes database infrastructure, model data exchange interfaces, and data export formats
+ Develops and maintains modeling software tools in Java, C# .NET, Python to validate transmission network and generator data submissions using electrical engineering principles by doing data comparison and validity checks, and to automate and perform system modeling
+ Develops rules to validate data submissions in operations and planning models using SQL
+ Manage projects to upgrade the NMMS applications to implement desired new functionality, reviews system patches, and helps administers servers
Other Responsibilities
+ Provides training and mentoring of members of the Engineering Development Program (EDP)
+ Works closely with ERCOT Network Model Maintenance, Network Model Coordination, Resource Integration, System Operations, System Planning, Forward Markets, Client Services, and Grid Applications Development

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**EDUCATION**

What You'll Get To Do.
As a Staff Engineer on the AVE Aero/Fluids team within the AVE Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) IPT you will be responsible for supporting the Aero/Fluids manager in guiding the execution and ensuring quality of the Aero/Fluids team work products. You will be responsible for helping train more junior engineers and work with the team and external stakeholders to ensure all products meet quality and technical requirements.
Position responsibilities include:
- Apply extensive aero/fluids knowledge, skills and ability in pursuit of meeting contractual requirements. Strong emphasis on the development of tools, processes, and resources to translate raw aero/fluids data into models, databases, simulations (e.g. 3/6 DOF), etc
- Ensure the quality of Aero/Fluids team products meets technical rigor and IPT/deliverable standards
- Develop technical solutions to complex aero/fluids problems
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to team members
- Collaborate closely with other relevant disciplines/IPTs, e.g. Flight Analysis, Structures, Propulsion, Integration and test, etc
- Communicate effectively and clearly; present technical approaches and findings to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders
**Basic Qualifications:**
- 12 Years with Bachelors in Science; 10 Years with Masters; 8 Years with PhD. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered 'in lieu' of a degree.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time , as determined by the company to meet its business needs

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, Master's degree and 6 years of experience, or PhD and 4 years of experience, in Software/Electrical/Computer/Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or closely related field.
+ Current or active Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of application.
