**What's the Role?**
Bloomberg tax is seeking a skilled Administrator to join the Tax Operations team. This cross-functional role will work with the various Tax teams to provide support, manage schedules and assist in coordination and data exchange.
**We'll trust you to:**
+ Provide support to the various tax teams (Federal, International, State and Local Tax, Transfer Pricing and Strategy)
+ Assist Federal team with processing and mailing Federal and State Returns, including extensions and estimated payments
+ Prepare Forms 8858, W-8 and W-9
+ Retrieve invoices for income tax return analysis and assist with memos and presentations
+ Manage timing and communication related to team deliverables and assignments
+ Coordinate with accountants/auditors regarding data exchange
+ Assist in monthly reminders to accounting schedules
**You'll need to have:**
+ Knowledge of tax return collation in compliance with various U.S. jurisdictions
+ Effective multi-tasking skills in relation to project execution
+ Strong organizational, project management and interpersonal communications skills
+ Demonstrable examples of critical thinking and decision making

Salary Range = 95000 - 115000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

More Specific Accountabilities:

  • Proactively engage clients (in advisory and/or maintenance agreements) in conversation throughout the year in order to assess changes to business and/or personal situations in order to provide the optimal ongoing tax and financial strategy in alignment with their goals
  • Review, prepare, reconcile, and analyze accounting records and financial reports.
  • Prepare federal, state, or local tax returns for individuals, business establishments, or other organizations. Review prepared returns in accordance with the Harper & Company review guidelines in order to provide a high quality work product for final review.
  • Monitor, review, and verify accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and adequacy of supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, agency rules and regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Review and analyze reports for accuracy prior to distribution.
  • Clarify or research issues as necessary.
  • Provide input for developing accounting applications, reports, forms, records, and document procedures.
  • Assist in the development of financial projections and forecasts.
  • Examine accounts, records and compute taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations.
  • Advise management regarding effects of business activities on taxes, and on strategies for minimizing tax liability.
  • Ensure that the organization complies with taxing authority requirements.
  • Represent organization before taxing associations.
  • Organize and maintain tax records and conduct tax studies and special projects.

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in accounting, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to error-free work.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks or other accounting software.
  • Proficient in tax preparation: 1040, 1120, 1065
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Managing the end-to-end global tax accounting process for quarterly and annual reporting requirements including the signoff of US & non-US income tax provisions and related 10-K/10-Q disclosures.
  • Developing and overseeing the Tax Department procedures and controls for regulatory compliance projects, including SOX 404, ASC 740.
  • Managing global return-to-provision and tax basis balance sheet processes
  • Developing and presenting key tax metrics (effective tax rate – GAAP/adjusted, cash tax rate, etc.) to senior tax and finance management
  • Collaborating with other Tax Department (Tax Compliance; Tax Strategy and Planning) and Finance teams to ensure accuracy of financial statement data with respect to income taxes
  • Supporting the Global Tax Director and Chief Tax Officer in tax department initiatives, including training/development programs and process improvement projects around tax accounting.
  • Research and other special projects, as needed

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years tax experience in a Big 4/regional accounting firm and/or multi-national corporate tax department with a focus on tax accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills

The following skills are preferred by the business unit :

  • Working knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision, SAP, and OneStream
  • Experience leveraging technology (Alteryx, PowerBI, etc.) to develop innovative solutions within a tax environment
  • Experience managing a team

You'll spend time on the following:
  • Help compute our tax provision, both for US GAAP and statutory accounting purposes
  • Determine accounting treatment under ASC740 and document analysis
  • Review, monitor and report ASC 740 uncertain tax positions
  • You will participate in tax process optimization, develop and implement procedural changes and/or processes to improve the tax function and meet SOX certification
  • Prepare tax models and assist with other tax projects on an as needed basis
  • Use OneSource and all of the other wonderful toys we have
We're excited about you if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 5 plus years of tax and accounting experience
  • US GAAP, ASC740 knowledge
  • Knowledge of OneSource tax provision software is preferred
  • CPA certification preferred, MST a plus (not a must)
  • You are comfortable with MS Office , with Excel being your secret favorite
  • Experience with BNA and Checkpoint tax research software is preferred
  • You can juggle multiple priorities , projects, and deadlines without breaking a sweat
  • You're a details person with a penchant for preparing meticulously accurate work
  • You can switch seamlessly from working independently to working as part of a team
  • You're enthusiastic, adaptable, and see challenges as an opportunity to grow
  • Fluency in English (both written and oral) is essential, any additional European languages are a plus

* Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of data from multiple systems and use advanced tools to perform analysis and develop a point of view

What Will Put You Ahead

* Foundational understanding of state income tax concepts including apportionment and state filing types

* Experience presenting financial concepts to various audiences to effectively engage stakeholders and partnering with others to bridge gaps and solve problems
