**The Income Tax Analyst supports the organization's federal, state, and local income tax compliance and reporting obligations. This role blends technical tax expertise with analytical rigor to ensure accurate filings, optimize tax positions, and support audit readiness. The analyst will collaborate across finance, legal, and external advisors to maintain compliance and identify tax opportunities.**
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Assist in preparing the federal, state, and local corporate income and franchise tax returns, and payments, including supporting schedules and documentation.
+ Assist in preparing Canadian income tax returns and payments.
+ Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and tax payments.
+ Support tax audits and respond to notices from taxing authorities with appropriate documentation and analysis.
+ Conduct tax research and summarize findings for tax management.
+ Work with various software platforms, including Oracle, Corptax and MSOffice
+ Analyze general ledger accounts for tax-sensitive items.
+ Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the company's tax position.
+ Assist in modeling tax impacts of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
+ Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate tax accruals and disclosures.
+ Calculate quarterly estimated income tax payments and remit payments as needed.
+ Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations for income tax accounts.
+ Prepare monthly cash tax reconciliations.
+ Maintain and reconcile tax depreciation schedules.
+ Annual preparation of transfer pricing charge
+ Prepare schedules for audits of both income and indirect tax.
+ Provide support on various projects as needed.
Pay range for this position is $70,000-$80,000 annual salary.
**Qualifications**
Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Taxation (CPA or MST preferred)
Experience
2-5 years in public accounting or corporate tax; experience with federal and multi-state compliance
Technical Skills
Moderate Excel (pivot tables, formulas); tax software (Corptax)

**Position Specific Description**
We are seeking a Tax Analyst as a key member of the Tax Forecast team. This position will help ensure that NextEra Energy, Inc. remains "Best in Class" by continuing to drive quality and efficiency of our income tax forecasting and reporting processes.
**Tax Analyst Responsibilities:**
+ Prepare tax forecast cycle deliverables for monthly and quarterly reporting

**Position Overview:**
The Tax Analyst will report to the Income Tax Manager and support the tax department's various income tax functions, particularly preparation of the corporate federal consolidated and state income tax returns with an emphasis on tax compliance. This role will also support the tax provision and other processes to assist in accomplishing departmental goals and creating cost efficiencies and accurate work products.

**Your Day to Day as a Tax Analyst:**
+ Preparation of the consolidated federal income tax return and related partnerships tax returns.
+ Preparation of numerous state income and franchise returns on a separate, combined, and unitary basis.
+ Assistance with the preparation of numerous Canadian corporate income tax returns.
+ Assistance with the preparation of the quarterly and annual tax provision in accordance with ASC 740.
+ Calculation and filing of quarterly estimated and extension payments, both federal and state, and preparation of quarterly tax payment reconciliation.
+ Preparation of the federal excise tax returns on a quarterly basis and remittance of any excise tax payments.
+ Assistance with federal, state, and local tax audits including the preparation of responses to IDRs and other audit inquiries.
+ Support of other tax-related special projects as directed by management.
**Required Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a related field.
+ 2 years' experince of corporate income tax-related experience servicing multinational corporate structures.
+ 2 years' experience applying general tax principles to federal consolidated returns, partnerships, U.S. international tax concepts, unitary and combined state and local tax reporting, and ASC 740 reporting.
+ Experience reading and interpreting tax law to ensure the company's taxes are prepared in compliance with current tax legislation.
+ The ability and desire to identify process and procedural changes to maximize operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
+ Strong organizational and computer skills (e.g., MS Office Suite).
+ Ability to work and communicate with all levels of division operations and corporate financial personnel.
+ Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for operating in a challenging and dynamic environment.
+ Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ CPA or advanced degree in Taxation.
+ Experience with SAP or OneStream.
+ Experience with Corptax Compliance.

The base salary range for this position in ((stateProvince)) at the start of employment is expected to be between ((cust_salaryMin)) and ((cust_salaryMax)) per year. This highly visible and challenging position will provide hands on tax accounting, provision, compliance and analysis support, as the company moves forward with cutting edge new global level projects. Reporting to a highly skilled Manager, this role will allow room to add your signature on the organization as the company's infrastructure grows and their global reach expands. Core duties for this challenging Tax Analyst role you will include:
Responsibilities:
+ Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision, including financial statement disclosures
+ Support tax form preparation and compliance efforts for the company's domestic and foreign operations
+ As part of a team, work on tax planning projects that look to optimize tax strategies and ensure compliance
+ Assist with tax forecasting and budgeting as well as potential strategies for tax savings
+ Utilize technology and various tax software tools to best identify opportunities automate processes and improve efficiencies
+ Prepare indirect tax filings and research including necessary analysis and tax research including coordinating with outside consultants
+ Conduct ad hoc tax research, create projections and scenario analysis as requested by management
