Primary Purpose:
The Coordinator of Teacher Training and Professional Development supports Manor ISD's efforts to recruit, prepare, develop, and retain effective educators in accordance with Title II, Part A of ESSA. The coordinator will design and implement comprehensive, evidence-based professional learning experiences aligned with district priorities and educator needs. This position fosters continuous instructional improvement, equity, and student achievement through targeted support for teachers, principals, and instructional leaders.
Qualifications/Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree (required)
- Master's degree in education-related field (preferred)
- Valid Texas teaching certification (required)
- Minimum 5 years of successful PK-12 classroom teaching experience
- Experience designing and delivering professional development or instructional coaching (required)
- Knowledge of SPED, Bilingual/ESL compliance requirements and laws (preferred)
- Familiarity with AI tools and emerging edtech (preferred)
- Robotics and STEM education expertise (preferred)
- Deep understanding of instructional strategies, adult learning theory, and coaching frameworks
- Strong facilitation, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to design and implement professional learning aligned to Title II, Part A allowable activities
- Creative, solutions-oriented, and growth-minded approach to challenges
- Commitment to instructional equity and culturally responsive practices
- Capacity to evaluate educator effectiveness and professional learning outcomes
- Strong facilitation, collaboration, and communication skills
- Professional Learning Aligned to Title II, Part A Goals:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality, evidence-based professional development for teachers and school Leaders
- Align professional learning with Title II, Part A allowable uses, including improving instruction, instructional leadership, and educator effectiveness
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Curriculum & Instruction, and Campus Leaders to identify needs and opportunities for growth
- Support and mentor new teachers, including through induction programs aligned with Title II, Part A guidelines
- Work with campus instructional leaders to provide coaching and feedback to teachers
- Model instructional practices and facilitate job-embedded learning opportunities
- Promote equitable access to effective educators by supporting professional learning in high-need schools
- Use data to identify and address disparities in educator quality and student outcomes
- Build educator capacity to support diverse student populations including English learners and students with Disabilities
- Provide professional development in STEM content, robotics integration, and instructional technology
- Train educators in the responsible and effective use of AI and emerging edtech tools to enhance instruction and learning outcomes
- Collect, analyze, and use teacher, student, and program data to evaluate the effectiveness of professional development
- Adjust training programs and support based on evidence and feedback
- Collaborate with district departments and campus leaders to build a cohesive professional learning system
- Contribute to the development and implementation of leadership pipelines and succession planning
- Partner with external vendors, consultants, and state agencies as needed

Job Title: Substitute Teacher Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Primary Function: Under the direction of the school principal, the Substitute Teacher is responsible for supporting the School and the Diocese of St. Augustine in their mission to evangelize, catechize, and educate youth in a Catholic School environment. The Substitute Teacher shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in personal life.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Shall recognize and support the unique Catholic Mission of the School by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The teacher may not espouse any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church;
Shall abide by Catholic principles in the teacher's professional and private life, and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures;
Shall give evidence of living Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of a personal faith journey; shall strive to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example in the teacher's professional and private life;
Help build the School's faith community by a demonstrated willingness to participate in, and help plan, School religious and service activities;
