About the Role

What You'll Do
+ Provide direct support to students in 1:1, small group and whole classroom settings
+ Assist with behavior support plans and academic activities
+ Track and document student progress and behavior data
+ Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment
+ Step in flexibly to support other classrooms when needed
What We're Looking For
+ Experience working with students with behavioral, emotional, or special education needs
+ Knowledge of IEPs - writing goals, etc.
+ Strong de-escalation and behavior management skills
+ Familiarity with data collection and behavior tracking tools
+ Calm, patient, and adaptable in dynamic school settings
+ Team-oriented with a growth mindset
Requirements
+ Bachelor's Degree required
+ High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum)
+ CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB test or chest x-ray (if applicable)
+ Health certificate (per contract/state regulation)
+ Must be at least 18 years old and meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Compensation & Perks
+ Up to $5/hr - 1500 completion bonus

Details of the Position Include:
+ Location: Fairhaven, MA
+ Pay Rate: $50-60/hour (based on experience)
+ Start Date: August 28th, 2025
+ Duration: School Year
+ Schedule:
+ Elementary: 8:45 AM - 3:00 PM
+ Middle: 7:45 AM - 2:15 PM
Requirements:
+ DESE Licensure PK-8
+ DESE Special Education Licensure (Mild-Moderate or Severe)
+ 1+ Year Experience Teaching
Description:
+ Seeking 2 ASD Sub-Separate Teachers:
+ One at the Elementary School level
+ One at the Middle School level
+ Seeking 2 Inclusion Teachers with a background in Reading:
+ Specific reading certification not required
+ Wilson or Orton-Gillingham (OG) background preferred
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
+ Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
