Overview
We are hiringspecial education teachers acrosspre-K , Elementary, and Middle School levels for the 20252026 school year in Berwyn, IL. These roles are vital to delivering inclusive and individualized education for students with a wide range of learning needs, including developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet students academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Create and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with student IEP goals in core subjects such as Math, Reading, and Early Childhood Readiness
- Apply evidence-based practices, including Montessori strategies and differentiated instruction , to support diverse learning styles
- Assess student progress using data collection, ongoing evaluations, and standardized assessments; adjust instruction as needed
- Support students with behavioral health challenges using proactive classroom management and positive behavior strategies
- Maintain clear communication with families, therapists, general education staff, and related service providers
- Document student performance and maintain compliance with state and federal education standards
Preferred Areas of Expertise
- Pre-K/Preschool: Experience with toddlers, early learners, and developmental play-based instruction
- Elementary Grades: Familiarity with small-group resource support, push-in/pull-out instruction, and IEP case management
- Middle School: Skilled in behavioral intervention, academic remediation, and emotional regulation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field required; Masters preferred
- Illinois PEL with Special Education endorsement (LBS1) required
- Experience working with students with developmental disabilities and/or behavioral challenges
- Knowledge of IEP development, classroom accommodations, and progress monitoring tools
- Familiarity with early childhood education or Montessori practices is a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed instruction
