Job Description
**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
+ The teaching assistant will assist in grading homework, quizzes, and exams of the online section of course.
+ The teaching assistant will also monitor online discussion boards, perform online course communication with students, and assist during Adobe Vantage Point synchronous discussions.
+ The selected individual will be responsible for preparing the course Blackboard site before the start of the course.
+ The Blackboard site will include assignment descriptions and deadlines, grade book calculations, group and class discussion forums, student resources, practice exams, and mid-term course evaluations.
+ The position will require the student to outline a teaching module for future online teaching assistants. This module must include documents for preparing new teaching assistants, troubleshooting tips, and information on fostering a productive working relationship with a professor.
+ Other administrative tasks may be required.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree.
+ Prior teaching experience in the relevant course content area preferred.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Familiarity with Turnltin, Adobe Vantage Point, Populr, Blackboard, and Piazza.
+ Master's Degree in related field strongly preferred.
