The Special Education Instructional Assistant (Teaching Assistant) is a non-certified assistant to the Special Education Program at the academy. The assistant will: Serve students in both general education and special education resource classrooms Work to support students in all settings on campus Work under the direction of and in collaboration with the certified Special Education teachers and General Education teachers Provide 1:1 support for students needing behavioral support *Additional duties may be included, depending on the experience and expertise of the candidate and the specific academy needs. Candidates will need to pass a background clearance process, including the obtaining of an Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card. Experience: The ideal candidate has previous experience in Special Education. The ideal candidate has two years previous experience with behavioral support in Special Education. Teaching assistants will be communicating with the faculty and students regularly, assisting with lab preparation and clean up and review sessions.
Requirements
Interpersonal communication skills, knowledge of audiology coursework, organization skills, and timeliness.
