Job Title: Team Lead Packer

JOB OVERVIEW: Under the direction of Production Supervisor, oversees Packers and temporary employees to ensure the quality and production of Non cushioned mailers across multiple postproduction lines. Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements as well as company standards for quality performance and operation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Will also be Responsible for maintaining continuous product quality during production and guide workflow by monitoring packaging work force's quality inspections and packaging process. Performs quality inspections at regularly prescribed intervals and documents accordingly across multiple production lines. Helps employees in the department perform their duties correctly. Helps converting team operate at or above designated run speeds.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* This is a working role that will work alongside the group in whatever function is required to ensure continuous production in the fulfillment center.
* Lead team of Packers on multiple postproduction lines by monitoring performance and providing direction. Ensure SOPs are followed during production process.
* Ensure correct packaging components are in place for each job order.
* Responsible for maintaining integrity of SAP inventory management system and that finished good load flags are processed correctly.
* Monitor jobs, including packaging, for defects and inaccuracies per Pregis quality standards; correct and report any non-conformities and initiate hold procedure when needed.
* Ensure Packer rotations and breaks per company policies.
* Work with Production Supervisor to determine manning schedules and overtime allocations.
* Accurately update the upcoming shift to ensure a smooth shift handoff; communicate regularly with staff to minimize delays.
* Manage and maintain the timecards for temporary workers.
* Perform and document hourly inspections and run profile retain samples per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
* Monitor mailer production, including packaging, for defects and inaccuracies per quality standards; correct and report any non-conformities and initiate hold procedure when needed.
* Train Packers on Quality Assurance (QA) SOP; regularly conduct audits to ensure quality inspections are being performed.
* Communicate effectively with upcoming shift to ensure smooth handoff; keep open dialogue with staff to minimize delays.
* Perform 6S and SOP audits regularly as required.
* Help to identify WIP material defects, captures relevant information (lot codes, samples,
etc.) and forward to Quality Manager.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

* High school education or equivalent technical school preferred
* 3 to 5 years' experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred.
* Supervisory experience preferred.
* Must be able to communicate verbally in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
* Strong organizational skills: ability to delegate, plan, and schedule accordingly.
* Must be flexible with work scheduling as well as overtime.
* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
* Ability to understand detailed written and/or oral instructions including basic mathematical skills.
* Ability to read a ruler, scale, and micrometer.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality.
* Overtime as needed daily, or weekends based upon business needs.
* Working Conditions: Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 40-50 pounds and endure elevated temperature levels.

Culinary Lead  (Hourly Kitchen Manager)

The Role:   
Culinary Leads are responsible for food quality and safety at CAVA. Our ideal Culinary Lead is hardworking, attentive to detail, and capable of leading and coaching a team. 

 
What You’ll Do:  

  • Lead and develop the grill and prep teams and Special Ops trainers 
  • Be responsible for opening or closing the restaurant 
  • Learn basic food and beverage management, including ordering and inventory organization 
  • Develop new leadership skills to lead the team 
  • Assist with any additional duties assigned 
  • Proven track record of coaching and developing team members 
  • Ability to cross train across the restaurant to ensure rapid growth 
  • May stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds 
  • Assist with any additional duties assigned 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Must be able to bend and reach overhead often 
  • Must possess dexterity to handle tongs, pots/pans, and other equipment 
  • Must be comfortable working in temperatures ranging from hot to cold 
  • Must be comfortable working near open flames 
  • May be required to work in tight spaces 
  • Must maintain near constant communication with multiple people 
  • Close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision is required 
  • Must be able to sit, squat and kneel occasionally 
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner 
  • May be required to occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions
