AES Clean Energy is currently seeking a Lead Solar Project Manager to steer high-impact photovoltaic solar and energy storage projects from development through construction, commissioning, and handover to Operations. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assessing potential project acquisitions, spearheading construction planning, defining scopes of work for upcoming projects, and managing construction progress as an Owner's Project Manager. This position will report to the Director of Project Management and will require periodic travel to project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and document RFPs and scopes of work for third-party EPC firms; lead EPC selection and contract negotiations.
• Conduct thorough due diligence on potential solar sites and assess identified sites through comprehensive reviews and analyses.
• Collaborate with Development to establish internal budgets and project timelines for execution.
• Act as the Owner's Representative for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract management on significant utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the US.
• Lead EPC contract negotiations, working closely with legal and contract management teams.
• Review and manage EPC contractor schedules, budgets, scope, subcontractors, and compliance with environmental health and safety plans.
• Oversee utility interconnection processes, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared for interconnection and testing.
• Engage with stakeholders and represent the company with landowners, local authorities, customers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Support permitting and jurisdictional approval processes as needed for project construction.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors and suppliers to ensure contract compliance and the successful delivery of contractual obligations.
• Manage internal project teams, including engineering, commissioning, procurement, and finance, to ensure timely and effective project execution.
• Conduct on-site inspections to ensure project quality and safety standards are met.
• Lead status update meetings with management, energy off-takers, and stakeholders, providing clear project plans and status dashboards.
• Organize and maintain all project documentation for internal and external stakeholders and financial requirements.
• Facilitate smooth project transitions from Construction to Asset Operations teams.
• Assist in developing internal operating policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in project management within renewable energy construction.
• Familiarity with photovoltaic solar design and technical standards, along with civil and structural knowledge.
• Proven experience in leading EPC contract negotiations.
• Experience with utility-scale PV solar project construction; energy storage experience is a plus.
• PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is preferred.
• Strong proficiency with CPM scheduling.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Outstanding stakeholder management abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with a focus on effective project planning and reporting.

Minimum Requirements
