We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive technical specialist to lead the transition of over 7,000 users from existing onsite phone systems to Microsoft Teams Phone utilizing Operator Connect. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep technical knowledge of Teams Phone implementations, as well as a proven track record in large enterprise voice migration projects.
Role Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary technical resource for moving legacy telephone services to Teams Phone with Operator Connect.
• Collaborate with internal telecom teams, IT departments, and Microsoft partners to architect, configure, validate, and deploy Teams-based voice solutions.
• Partner with telecom staff to set up and manage Teams Phone users, assign telephone numbers, configure call plans, establish policies, set up auto attendants and call queues, and enable additional Teams voice functionalities.
• Coordinate with project managers to design migration approaches and support staged rollout plans across various groups, ensuring seamless cutovers with limited impact to end users.
• Provide troubleshooting expertise and guidance for telecom and IT support teams to resolve issues related to Teams Phone performance, connectivity, and feature set.
• Produce comprehensive documentation for technical configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting for handoff to support teams.
• Support the implementation of monitoring tools and processes for call quality and service reliability, working closely with NOC teams.
• Participate in user validation, coordinate end-user training efforts, and support post-migration activities.
• Offer subject matter expertise on best practices for integrating Microsoft 365 and Teams Phone voice solutions.
• Maintain transparent communication on project milestones, challenges, and risk mitigation with stakeholders and project leadership.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Demonstrated experience overseeing large telephony projects, specifically migrations to Teams Phone environments.
• In-depth understanding of Teams Phone, Operator Connect, and Microsoft 365 platform administration.
• Hands-on ability to configure Teams voice components including dial plans, direct routing, policy management, and call routing.

The Role:
