Position Summary:

The Clean Tech Instructor (Solar Install, Heat Pump and/or EVSE Technician) is responsible for teaching the designated curriculum to learners in GESMN's classroom and training labs. This position plays an essential role in ensuring course content is delivered at a consistently high quality that maximizes learner understanding, as
well as their potential for obtaining employment. This position also assists in community and employer engagement and education about the program as well as recruitment and job placement activities.

Day in the life : In a typical day, the Clean Tech Instructor .

  • Instruction : Delivers technical instruction according to the learner outcome objectives of the specific industry sector course
  • Case Management : In partnership with other internal staff, provides one point of contact to identify, access, and navigate services that support student goals
  • Documentation : Maintains complete, accurate and timely documentation of individuals served by following established applicable procedures, guidelines and laws, as well as organize and report essential caseload information on a regular basis to support program and organizational goals.
  • Job Placement and Career Services : Delivers significant aspects of job placement and job development services in collaboration with the industry training staff resulting in optimal employment outcomes for individuals served.

Job Pay & Perks:

  • Pay range: $25.24 - $7.04
  • This is a scheduled-hybrid role whose essential functions require work to be conducted at a physical location, which may include a GESMN or partner facility, at least two (2) days per week. The remaining days can be worked from the employee's home office or a designated community setting as directed by the manager.

Prior Experience & Education:

  • A minimum of 3+ years' experience in solar installation or related construction experience.
  • Related industry certifications preferred.
  • Experience in training, teaching, and/or working with diverse crew with varying skill level and/or volunteers preferred.

Qualifications

Licenses / Certifications

  • Licensure - Varies by state, campus location, course and accreditation and licensing
  • Education - Minimum of an associate degree in surgical technology
  • Experience - Must have four (4) years of current/recent clinical experience with two (2) or more years working in the OR within the last five (5) years
  • NBSTA - Must be credentialed in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
  • Minimum of four years clinical experience in surgical technology with at least 2 years in the operating room scrub role within the last 5 years

Education / Experience

  • Must be knowledgeable in the course content
  • Must be effective directing and evaluating student learning and lab performance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Prior teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

INSTRUCTIONAL DUTIES

  • Instruct classes as assigned
  • Prepare for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student material
  • Prepare lesson plans and course material as required
  • Objectively assess students for academic performance
  • Effectively organize and present subject matter to students
  • Effectively utilize instructional plans provided
  • Supplement approved student material as required
  • Ensure security of assessment tools and confidential documentation
  • Effectively utilize and monitor the learning management systems
  • Ensure classes are conducted for the required length of time

STUDENT INTERACTION

  • Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Set the example and be the role model for professionalism and conduct
  • Provide regular and constructive feedback, through approved channels, to students regarding academic performance, grades, professionalism, conduct, attendance, and other topics as necessary
  • Proactively inform Program Director of any student attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns for retention management
  • Appropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with the published attendance policy including recording and posting daily
  • Facilitate tutoring and makeup work as needed, ensuring and monitoring student participation
  • Refer students to the Program Director and/or Academic Dean if additional advising is necessary
  • Refer students having excess of three (3) absences to the Program Director or Academic Dean
  • Remain in classrooms for all assigned instructional times
  • Adhere to classroom break schedules as per policy
  • Document all relevant student contact in CampusNexus including calling students (1st hour 1st call)
  • Enforce CSC and campus policies (dress code, cell phone usage, etc.)

RELATED DUTIES, OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

  • Record keeping, scanning, etc.
  • Stay informed of current standards related to instructional methodology
  • Participate in and document ongoing faculty and professional development activities including any Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that may be required for certification or licensure where required by law
  • Attend outside workshops and seminars to improve instructional and professional skills
  • Attend orientations, staff meetings, and faculty meetings as scheduled
  • Assist with preparations for graduation ceremonies
  • Attend graduation ceremonies as requested
  • Participate in student and campus activities as requested (Lamplighter nominations, field trips, community activities, etc.)
  • Assist in inventory, organization and ordering of supplies and classroom material
  • Maintain classrooms in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Assist in maintenance of equipment and technology
  • Report any non-functioning equipment to the Program Director or Academic Dean
  • Maintain a professional, enthusiastic, and positive attitude; contribute to a positive campus culture
  • Assist financial aid and administrative departments by providing information and coordinating appointments as needed
  • Assist with student recognition as requested
  • Assist in Clinical or Externship site visits and development as needed

Qualifications

  • Must be credentialed in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
  • Minimum of four (4) years clinical experience in surgical technology with at least two (2) years in the operating room scrub role within the last five (5) years
  • Minimum of an associate degree in surgical technology

Education / Experience

  • Must be knowledgeable in the course content
  • Must be effective directing and evaluating student learning and lab performance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Prior teaching experience preferred

  • Ensure the students learn the medication, order-entry, refill process, and medication safety
  • Instruct on a variety of topics in the Pharmacy Tech program such as (pharmacology, computer technology, sterile and non-sterile compounding, billing and reimbursement, direct patient care, inventory management, pharmacy law and regulations, and quality assurance
  • Identify and Review the components of the pharmacy technician certification examination for students to successfully pass
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
  • Monitor instructor lesson plans and their posting
  • Adheres to academic policies/procedures for compliance
  • Conduct labs/skills for students in a pharmacy lab to develop master skills in the clinical experience
  • Ensure compliance with all internal compliance standards and processes

  • Certification in Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) and/or at least 3 years of experience in the Pharmacy Tech field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a Pharmacy
  • Must be an ABHES and TWC-approved Instructor

  • Strong interpersonal skills with supervisor and staff populations.
  • Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills with the Microsoft Office Suite.
