Overview

Technical Services Administrator

Under direct supervision of the Sr. Dir Customer Operations, selecting from a variety of established procedures to accomplish duties, the Technical Services Administrator assists the Configuration Lab with coordination of projects, scheduling logistics, tracking and resolving technical difficulties, and generating reports for Configuration, Value Added Services and Depot. The Administrator monitors stock levels in the lab to ensure proper stock is available for projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Configuration Manager and Supervisors with the management of the project database queue for all incoming projects. This includes Configuration and Value Added Services (VAS).
    • Assists with the assigning of estimated time commitment (ETC) for projects
    • Provides ETC's to Corp Service Team
    • Works with Corp Services team to release, move and hold orders
    • Works directly with Corp Services on the progress of all projects in configuration lab.
    • Monitors stock levels in the lab
    • Works with the team leads to insure proper stock is being brought into the lab
    • Tracks and assists with the resolution of technical difficulties and facilitates the communications with parties outside the Configuration department regarding these difficulties.
  • Handles various administrative duties for the Director in support of departmental operations.
    • Provides updated daily, weekly and monthly reports to the Director and associated managers and supervisors.
    • Assists the Director in documenting projects using tools such as Word and PowerPoint
    • Reviews the departmental email boxes to insure all requests are being answered/replied to in a timely manner
    • Assists the Refurbishment team on stock requests and project tracking
  • Utilizes measures and metrics to recommend process improvements within Client Services
  • Maintains current knowledge of the products and services offered to Connection workers
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of measurements that defien the throughput and qualifty of the teams work products
  • Develops, uses, validates and enhances standard operating procedures with an eye toward enabling self-help, self-service and automation
  • Authors, uses and monitors the effectiveness of knowledge articles that enhance incident resolution and problem management.

Qualifications

Degree Requirement: High School or equivalency
  • Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of the following skills:
    • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products
    • Strong Knowledge of corporate technology tools such as JD Edwards, PSN, Call Tracker
    • Knowledge of the configuration lab software CSC
    • Knowledge of report generation tools
  • Attention to detail in composing, keying, and proofing professional business materials
  • Ability to assist with project scheduling and understanding lab workflow
  • Strong understanding of and working knowledge of the value added technology industry
  • Adaptable with ability to switch tasks based on shifting priorities
  • Excellent written communication skills with ability to compose professional business communications via email, letter, and proposals.

The Student Administration Senior Technical Developer/Analyst requires proactive initiative to resolve the most complex Student Administration application issues in support/development areas that include implementation, system analysis, planning, design, development, and support of the Campus Solutions application. The expert level position must possess advanced, comprehensive, and technical knowledge of the Student Administration system including a high level of developer ability. Specific technical support and development assignments may change at any time based on Application Development's project and priorities, including supporting other applications within the area such as HCM and Finance.
This position is approved for telecommuting (two days telecommuting, three days in office (in-person)) with onsite work at the main headquarters located in Long Beach, California.

Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Director, Application Operations , the Student Administration Senior Technical Developer/Analyst will:
-Create new technical development without assistance from other analysts based on functional specifications.
-Support technical development of the PeopleSoft SA application using PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Web Services, Integration Broker, Application Designer, Application Messaging, Application Engine, complex SQR, etc.
-Provide production support for the campuses by analyzing and troubleshooting campus application issues reported through Service Now help desk tickets. Coordinate PeopleSoft updates, fixes, upgrades, and installations. Advise campus programmers on technical development, environment control and maintenance issues. Collaborate with functional leads on ongoing maintenance and development.
-Mentor and train Technical Developer/Analysts on development efforts, best practices, and documentation.
-Research and stay current on the latest development software utilizing training and self-study tools.
-Lead and participate on project teams to implement new system functionality within the PeopleSoft SA applications.
-Analyze, design, code and unit test application solutions from requirements using defined process and procedures. Present analysis to management and other project teams.
-Provide estimates and timeframes for development work and deliverables.
-Deliver effective solutions on time and adhere to development and quality standards.
-Communicate and enforce best practice coding standards.
-Undertake special projects as directed including working with other subject matter experts (SME) teams to facilitate cross training and coverage of all application areas.

Qualifications
This position requires:
-This position requires a BA/BS in Computer Science or a related filed or an equivalent combination of education and experience, as well as course work in the PeopleSoft Student Administration application.
-Minimum 7-10 years of technical experience developing and supporting the PeopleSoft Student Administration application with demonstrated development expertise in the Student Administration application version 9.2 or higher and PeopleTools version 8.60 or higher.
-Development skills include expert proficiency with Fluid, Integration Broker, PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Application Packages, Component Interfaces, Configuration Manager, SQL/SQR, BI publisher, Web Services, PeopleSoft Update manager or Change Assistant.
-Proven recent technical end-to-end development on major projects and modifications. Proven ability to create new development unassisted based on functional specifications.
-Excellent application implementation lifecycle skills including experience with translating business requirements into technical designs, contributing to fit/gap analysis, application configurations, and technical specifications.
-Creative problem solving/strategic thinking skills to improve processes and solve complex problems.
-Strong understanding of best practice coding techniques and testing skills.
-Excellent analytical skills, debugging techniques and root cause analysis skills.

Job Description

The Celestar Corporation is seeking an Administrative Assistant who will be seated in Denver, CO . Please review the position description below. If interested and qualified, we welcome you to apply for this challenging opportunity.

CLEARANCE/ACCESS: Active Secret Level Clearance; Clearance must appear in DISS, and be within scope.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Records and file management
  • Employee in- and out-processing
  • Assist in managing DOD, DSS, and local office policies and programs.
  • Support the field office chief in scheduling.
  • Correspondence drafting and routing
  • Travel planning (Defense Travel System (DTS))
  • Conference room coordination
  • Office equipment and supply inventory maintenance
  • Government timecard program (DAI) management
  • Receipt and routing of office mail/correspondence.
  • Management of the task management (CATMS) system
  • Assist in the execution of the office training program.
  • Responsible for inputting and managing databases as directed.
REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Graduate with two (2) years of administrative experience
  • Active Secret Level Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with the Defense Travel System and timekeeping management programs is a plus
