Technical Advisor, Regulatory Affairs
TerraPower is seeking a highly talented and motivated candidate for the position of Technical Advisor for Regulatory Affairs. This position will report to the Senior Vice President, Regulatory Affairs. The position's main duties are to provide support to the Senior Vice President and the Regulatory Affairs team in regulatory decisions and processes. The position will be a part of the Regulatory Affairs Management team.
Responsibilities
The Technical Advisor will provide direct support by evaluating regulatory policy, developing regulatory position papers, developing regulatory presentations, developing regulatory documents, tracking action and compliance items, developing options/solutions to challenging regulatory tasks, project management and providing regulatory recommendations.
• Prepare and review regulatory submittals, presentations, reports, and other communication materials
• Effectively navigate a complex stakeholder landscape and ensure alignment on project goals and objectives
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration on regulatory issues across project teams, departments, and external partners
• Lead and track regulatory compliance items
• Develop and implement process improvements. Assess risks, identify problem areas in execution, and improve collaboration among teams across regulatory affairs and the company
• Assists in creating and maintaining strategic plans for Regulatory Affairs
• Lead or contribute to special projects and initiatives
Key Qualifications and Skills
• 4 Year degree or higher in engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in interactions with various regulatory bodies
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in developing and reviewing regulatory submittals
• Excellent written communications and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with all levels within the organization including senior executives, trustees, donors, and peers.
• Adaptability and resilience in the face of rapid change and ambiguity
• Proficiency in project planning, implementation and delivering results.

- Advanced skill sufficient to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships with diverse groups and executive-level command management.
- Ability to recognize and analyze complex analytical problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations for resolution; Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts; draw conclusions; conduct analysis; devise recommended solutions; and package the entire process in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making.
