Job Description

As a Technical Field Service Specialist - Automotive Coatings , you will represent PPG onsite ensuring our Automotive Coatings customer satisfaction by providing outstanding customer service; focus your concentration on Color and Appearance control to their specifications. Be responsible to both the Plant and PPG goals. You will participate in Continuous improvement team and problem-resolution meetings with Plant Operations and Management!

Specialized Training provided to those who meet qualifications of the role. Will report to the Optima Solutions Manager and sit at our Rahau site in Cullman, Alabama.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the ongoing activities of PPG onsite at customer automotive production facilities and communicate logically with initiative to understand customer concerns, collect data, take appropriate actions, and resolve problems.
  • Ensure accurate reporting to the Paint process team.
  • Communicate updates with PPG Technical and Account management, direction of the PPG on site team activity, and to promote Health, Safety, and Environmental mentorship is always followed.
  • Providing resolution to customer inquiries, application process monitoring, mix-room supervisors, consignment inventory, material ordering, and hands-on support; followed by a written daily shift report.
  • Follow safe work practices, with mechanical aptitude to explain complex ideas across technical, production and non-technical personnel to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Ability to work weekends or is necessary.

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of field experience with multiple industrial coating technologies including water-borne base coat/clear coat systems, OEM paint approval process, and specifications,
  • Digital literacy, and technical report writing.
  • 3+ years in a technical setting or paint application environment and experience in Tier 1 automotive manufacturing. water-borne Paint mixing and adjustment experience.
  • Must have a valid US driver's license.

The base pay range for this position in California $85,000.00 - $ 95,000.00 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. + **Bachelor's degree, High School diploma, GED or technical vocational or apprenticeship training, combined with prior transformer field service or related experience.**
+ **High level field supervisory skills to direct crew members and subcontractors as assigned.**
