Job Title: Field Service Technician
Job Description
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of Electronic Security Systems. The technician works both independently and as part of a team to complete service calls, troubleshoot system issues, and provide customer support. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
+ Install and program CCTV, Access, Locks, Intercom, Fire, and security systems.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CCTV, Access, Locks, Intercom, Fire, and security systems.
+ Identify risks to customers and provide effective solutions.
+ Conduct routine preventative maintenance on alarm systems.
+ Monitor inventory of service parts.
+ Install all Low Voltage Systems and hardware.
+ Provide the main office with scheduling and materials on a weekly basis and upon request from direct Supervisor.
+ Supervise and guide low voltage installation crews.
+ Conduct quality control checks and inspections before project turnover.
+ Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
+ Coordinate daily tasks and ensure alignment with project schedules.
+ Enforce job site safety protocols (PPE, ladders, lifts, lockout/tagout).
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job experience.
+ Ability to handle physical workload and lift 50 pounds.
+ Previous experience in security installation, maintenance, wire running, carpenter, IT, Access, CCTV, or other related fields.
+ Familiarity with hand and power tools.
+ Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Ability to differentiate colors for proper wiring and terminations.
+ Ability to work with various hand and power tools in a safe manner.
+ Ability to drive and travel various distances to multiple sites with your own vehicle.
+ Ability to stand for most of your working day.
+ Ability to climb ladders and perform work while working at heights.
+ Excellent communication skills are required (both written and verbal).
+ Must have a positive attitude and team player mentality.
+ Well organized and detail oriented.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ OSHA 30 and SST certification would be useful upfront but will need to have prior to 90-day review.
+ Possesses the desire and ability to learn about new products.
Work Environment
Work is done 100% onsite at customer locations. Technicians will work both independently and as part of a team to complete service calls. Work is mainly at customer sites throughout the Tri-State area, with potential travel to different worksite locations as needed. Candidates are eligible for tolls, gas, and all work-related expenses for work out of the state of New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $36.00/hr.

  • Completion of field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets

**Associate Field Service Representative - Transport**
As an Associate Field Service Representative, you will play a key role in supporting a designated service territory along with repairing and delivering Stryker equipment with a focus on Transport solutions. You will work with a diverse range of products, including stretchers, transport chairs, bed frames, and temperature management systems. This position serves as an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and advance into a more senior ProCare role within Stryker.
**What you will do**
+ Possess basic electronic and mechanical aptitude.
+ Perform all required quality control checks and preventative maintenance, global hold repairs, and wireless upgrades
+ Utilize computer software to complete documentation, order parts, reference training materials, and more
+ Present the highest level of customer etiquette in support of the sales team, and promote increased equipment and service usage by establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships
+ Work mostly independently and engage in opportunities to support and collaborate with teammates across the business, including assisting on Field Service projects and initiatives

Overview

Works with Agents and regional personnel to ensure efficiency and client satisfaction and effectively delivers advanced technical support and training for our Billing, Underwriting, Claims systems and online platform that allows policyholders to access insurance related services. Provide valuable input to the supervisor to assist in developing and refining the department's strategy. Assists with data analysis and trend anaylsis with the use of our incident management system and our system that provides data insights for contact center operations. Acts as a communication liaison with regions, agencies, and employees who are responsible to oversee the development and success of a product.

Responsibilities

  • Assists agents via email and phone calls including screen sharing, with queries related to our Billing, Underwriting, Claims systems and online platform that allows policyholders to acess insurance related services.
  • The ability to reconstruct policy activity based on knowledge of automated systems and company operations. Uses source systems to support service delivery. Reports errors via our incident management system and conduct appropriate follow up to provide problem resolution. Recognizes opportunities and makes appropriate recommendations to management to reduce agent inquiries by changing departement practices or products.
  • Provide advanced technical support to agency staff to troubleshoot technical support issues involving Selective and third party vendor systems. When applicable, email agents to provide them with training material for future reference.
  • Identifies/recommends automation enhancements essential to success of agency utilization of Selective systems including, but not limited to Billing, Underwriting, Claims systems and our online platform that allows policyholders to access insurance related services.
  • Recognize opportunities to reduce agent/field staff queries on frequently asked questions (e.g. password reset), provide appropriate recommendations to management and implement approved recommendations.
  • Participate in development of video training modules and reference guides.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Requirements
  • Must be proficient in most standard business applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Must be a detail-oriented and a team player with the ability to initiate positive change.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Requires a thorough understanding of Billing, Underwriting and Claims systems.
  • Prior knowledge of our Commercial and Personal Lines Underwriting systems preferred.
  • College degree preferred
  • 2-4 years call center, customer support or training experience preferred
  • 0-2 years insurance experience preferred
