Position responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate with customers as needed, to include visits as appropriate.
  • Coordinate the work of our forklift technicians acting as a main point of contact.
  • Provide field service proposals to customers for recommended repairs.
  • Issue purchase orders for outside repairs, as needed.

  • Handle performance evaluations and any disciplinary needs for staff that reports to this position.
  • Ensure ongoing technical training is given to the field service techs, as needed. This may be through personal training or through our technical training department.
  • Perform as one of the primary decision-makers for field service new hires and terminations. Participate in job interviews for field service positions.
  • Ensure company service vans are maintained properly and safely.
  • Ensure communications on all matters of importance to staff are shared with staff.
  • Approve field service invoicing prior to billing.
  • Backup dispatcher(s).
  • Enforce safety standards in all areas.
  • If responsible for any TM & R accounts, manage these contract accounts, be responsible for meeting contract goals.
  • If assigned, manage the New Truck Set-up operation in our Shop, coordinating with new truck set ups with the shop and the CSG group.
  • Complete initial investigation and paperwork on any work-related injuries or accidents, including vehicular, if involving subordinates, submit to Corporate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Essential skills and experience:

  • At least 5 years in material handling service environment, or similar industry.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Planning: ability to think ahead and plan over a one-to-two year time span
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate technically in the products we service.
  • Good computer proficiency
  • Must hold valid Operators License for powered industrial equipment

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Provide daily management of operational items related to field service, including managing of vendor KPI's, monitoring store issues, service ticket entry and resolution, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate regular calls with vendors and lead the discussion by setting an agenda and flagging priority items for prompt resolution.

  • Monitor the economy and market conditions that could impact the RDS costs for field service.
  • Possess full understanding of Readerlink customer expectations.
  • Assist in the management of regular communication with merchandiser teams, working with ReaderLink Sales to draft a statement of work and post to the field.
  • Scrutinize vendor invoices and submit to leadership for approval.
  • Provide RDS with valuable business intelligence obtained from audits and service vendor KPI's.
  • Administer operational audits, evaluating RDS procedures and processes to streamline and improve efficiencies.
  • Monitor store issues, including openings, remodels, and complaints, to ensure appropriate resolution.
  • Schedule regular Vendor meetings to maintain overall merchandising excellence and maximize sales.
  • Assist with the development of tools to streamline service execution, including reporting, videos, training documents, & applications.
  • Participate in vendor and customer calls/meetings as needed. Liaise with internal departments to ensure efficient execution.
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.

What You Will Need:

  • Associate's degree in Business or a related field is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in Field Merchandising is required.
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of computer software including Excel and Word required.
  • Willingness to travel as needed up to 20%.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with Excel using data sorting and filtering.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to speak with all levels of the organization and outside partners.
  • Interpersonal skills - the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.

In Service Operations we like to say Outage is a Team Sport. Every successful outage starts with a winning bid and a proven execution plan, and then requires constant support and follow-though from the entire organization before breaker-open and beyond breaker-shut. As a Service Field Engineer you will travel to power stations and lead teams of technicians and craft labor to effect repairs and upgrades to critical power generation equipment during both planned and required outages. Work on these units is typically 24/7 and lasts from weeks to months. The field engineer role is responsible for the safe technical execution of the project as well as assisting the project manager meet the commercial requirements and maintaining excellent customer relationship!
**How You'll Make an Impact**
+ Lead Field Service teams at customer power plant sites around the country and world servicing, upgrading and modifying their turbine generators and associated auxiliary equipment during planned and forced service outages.
+ Develop detailed outage plans, schedules, budgets, and spend plans to support district service offices in implementing outages
+ Liaise with the district, Sales, and Marketing teams, other product line estimating teams, frame owners, engineering, and related technical specialists to define mechanical scope of work, division of responsibilities (DOR), and customer specific requirements.
+ Maintain and continuously improve the functionality, accuracy, and precision of estimating tools and supporting data through evaluation and analysis of performance data from outages, implementing quality control measures, and capturing feedback from internal customers.
+ Evaluate cost management proposals, support new products and services, lead related special projects, and develop planning templates to support field project managers.

Conduct root cause analysis & implement pertinent Customer Service Improvement Plans.

**Basic Qualifications**

Clean Harbors in **Dolton, IL** is seeking a **Field Service Foreperson** to join our safety conscious team. This position will be responsible for the direct supervision of the Field Technicians. Forepersons and Technicians will be responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response (emergency spill cleanup), hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation (tank and pit cleaning), equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

**Key Requirements:**
+ Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner
+ Train and mentor the Field Service Technicians
+ Execution of projects/jobs within budget and on time
+ Enforce and ensure OSHA, EPA and H&S standards or regulations are compliant
+ Understand and work with the Coordinator in the communication of manpower, equipment and resources required to complete field service and emergency response projects
+ Manage large scale field service and emergency response projects when directed
+ Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects
+ Operate light and heavy equipment, handles various hand tools and powered industrial tools, works with vibration-producing tools
+ Wear and properly use a variety of personal protective Equipment (PPE). Including respirators, skin, face, hand and foot protection in a multiple number of combinations
+ Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
+ Work in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosive
+ Work in potentially elevated noise levels, confined spaces, including lifting in areas of low clearance
+ Work at elevations including working from ladders and scaffolding
+ Assist in field sampling activities and calibration of meters
+ Climb ladders, scaffolding and into and out of trucks, tanks, and various other containers
+ Work extended (> 8 hrs.) time periods
+ Attend all compliance and safety update meetings
+ Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance
+ Safe loading and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
+ Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary
+ Complete associated paperwork, such as worksheets, vehicle inspections, equipment inspections and permits
+ Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
+ Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
+ Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
+ Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
+ Perform other duties as assigned
+ By position, ability to be on call for emergency response on rotating basis every other week
+ By position, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and the handling of hazardous materials
+ By position, may perform lead responsibilities
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Previous experience in a physically intensive role
+ Previous experience in a supervisory, crew lead or leadership role
+ Ability to travel for extended periods of time, overnight
+ Ability to be on-call for emergency response
+ Valid Driver's license
+ Perform physical functions per job requirements
+ Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
+ Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Previous heavy equipment experience (bobcats, excavators, etc)
+ Previous environmental and/or industrial experience (ie. site remediation, spill response, hydro blasting, vacuum truck, tank cleaning, refinery-based work)
+ Commercial driver license
