LOCATED IN LEAD, SOUTH DAKOTA

A Lead Technician is sought to join Fermilab's Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) and Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) Project team. The LBNF/DUNE Project is hosted by Fermilab in Batavia, IL, but includes participation from universities and laboratories from around the world. The project includes construction of a beamline and near detector at Fermilab and a large underground detector at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, South Dakota. LBNF/DUNE project will design and construct one of the largest proposed neutrino experiments in the world over the next several years.

Summary of Responsibilities: Based on expertise, general experience, and/or academic study, provides on-site support for an area of assignment pertaining to the installation of project components. Lead technicians will provide comprehensive direction to a group of on-site technicians.

You Will:

* Work one mile underground, with rotating shifts, and potential night and weekend work. Shift differential would be paid for the second shift.

* Operate as the foreman who leads, trains and assists technicians in multidisciplinary teams as assigned. Set goals, assign projects and contribute to performance appraisals for assigned technicians.

* Assistance with Installation of all infrastructure equipment required for the construction of two neutrino detectors, includes working at heights, network, cabling, detector safety systems, communications, electronics racks, HVAC, etc.

* Track daily activity and provide comprehensive shift reports.

* Assist in creating daily and weekly work plans

* You are responsible for all detector component movement on the level and within the cleanroom and cryostat. This includes use of small overhead cranes, hoists, mechanical connections, trolleys, winches, forklifts, etc.

* Abide by and are responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and Laboratory policies, procedures and practices pertinent to this position, including generating Hazard Analysis, and enforcing safety rules and regulations.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

We Are Looking For

Minimum Required Education and Experience: HS degree (or technical certificate orequivalent) plus 12+ years of advanced expertise and experience in a highly technical functionof strategic importance to a Laboratory project or experiment (e.g., cryo, radio frequency,radiation protection, clean room, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Erect EFCO Forming Equipment on Job Sites (60%)
    Lead and assist with on-site assembly, manage labor and equipment staging, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with safety guidelines. Guide customers through cycling procedures and complete detailed field reports for each visit.
  • Identify Customer Solutions & Troubleshoot (10%)
    Work closely with sales and engineering teams to assess customer needs and provide solutions. Act as a technical resource and coach customers on best practices.
  • Plan & Coordinate Field Visits (10%)
    Review construction plans and formwork drawings, forecast workload with the district manager, verify equipment lists, and coordinate travel and site scheduling.
  • Support Sales Through On-Site Demonstrations (10%)
    Partner with Territory Managers to demonstrate form cycling, setup, and stripping during pre-sale activities. Assist with project scheduling for customer success.
  • Deliver Job Site Safety Talks (5%)
    Conduct at least two toolbox safety meetings per month to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Special Projects & Other Duties (5%)
    Contribute to internal projects like submitting FORM Marks articles and other assigned tasks.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in engineering or 5+ years as a foreman or superintendent
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and leadership abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
  • Passion for construction and delivering high levels of customer service
  • Physical ability to climb, lift/push/pull up to 150 lbs, and work at heights and in demanding environments
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively (2-4 nights per week)

Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized industrial machinery, is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of their equipment across the region, with a primary focus on the Houston, Texas, US area. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete installation of new equipment at customer sites, including commissioning, calibration, and initial testing to ensure functionality and compliance with specifications. You will perform scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing any malfunctions or breakdowns to minimize downtime. Your duties will include troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. The required qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in field service, installation, or maintenance of industrial machinery is essential. Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints is a must. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across a range of equipment types are required. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are vital. The ability to travel frequently (up to 75%) and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, is necessary. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are also required. Experience with specific types of industrial equipment relevant to our client's product line is highly desirable. Job Duties

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Crown and all other makes of lift trucks.
  • Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customer lift trucks.
  • Maintain a service van and its inventory.
  • Process paperwork after completion of each job.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Less than 2 years related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics and internal combustion engines, and the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills.
  • Technical degree, previous lift truck repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment preferred.
  • Familiar with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder and various types of testing equipment.
  • Industry related training is preferred
  • Ability to read and understand service manuals, plan, and follow-through
