Job Description:

We are seeking a contingent instructor to facilitate competency-based learning and assessment to a diverse range of learners.
This individual must be highly motivated, willing to accept new challenges, and be able to complete tasks with minimal direction, including independent study, to stay current with technology.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Instrument and Controls concepts as well as instructor/facilitator experience.

Required Skills:
  • Possesses thorough knowledge in the following electrical Instrument and Controls concept, both theoretical and field application:
    • Process measurement, pressure, level flow and temperature fundamentals.
    • Basic Programmable Logic Controllers.
    • Control valves.
    • Process control fundamentals, such as pneumatic loop controls.
    • Application of tubing and fittings.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver instruction of assigned courses using a variety of teaching methods to facilitate the learning of participants. Depending on program requirements, courses may be taught in the classroom, outdoor locations, and/or online.
  • Must know, or when necessary, acquaint themselves with the rules, regulations, and standards for the safe operation of specific training topic being delivered.
  • Maintain professional/technical knowledge and skills including required occupational certification/licensing and instructional technology/delivery methods.
  • Possesses ability to interpret and familiarize students, concerning the operator safety manual, warning decals and placards.
  • Upholds a good safety record that is based on consistent implementation of safety standard.
  • Establish and maintain positive, professional, and collaborative relationships with internal and external partners including co-workers, employers, and professional organizations.
  • Accurately record and report participant learning and assessment results so that participant records are consistently up to date and recorded in the company learning management system.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including the use of the internet, Microsoft Office products and email.
  • Possesses good communication and presentation skills when speaking with groups or individuals.
Other requirements
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a valid driver license that has been in continuous effect for not less than 5 years immediately preceding the application.
  • Must pass or provide a current criminal history and driving record check.
Required Education:
  • Associates degree in related field OR degree equivalent based on verified work experience in the occupation combined with applicable education and training.
  • 2 years (4,000 hours) of recent, related occupational experience outside the field of education.

+ Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits, and prepares responses to audit findings.

Key Qualifications and Skills

Were seeking a Technical Instructor with a passion for teaching and working with data to join our training team to develop curriculum and deliver instruction focused on dbt Cloud.

What You'll Do
  • Deliver live, world-class instruction to train and onboard dbt Cloud customers, partners, and GSIs in small (~10), large groups (up to ~30) and webinar audiences (50 - 200)
  • Create an engaging learning environment initially in a remote context (on Zoom!) and likely in person in the future
  • Get learners excited about using dbt Cloud to make an impact at their organization
  • Clearly teach and demo new concepts and skills for learners
  • Facilitate live co-development sessions where learners apply what they have learned
  • Adjust instruction on the fly while focusing on learner outcomes
  • Provide critical feedback from your classroom experience to improve curriculum changes
  • Become a product expert with dbt in the context of the modern data stack (if you arent already)
  • Build curriculum independently
  • Gather and implement feedback and self-review teaching
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Data Analytics, Education, or similar).
  • 2-4 years of technical instruction or related experience.

**Essential Responsibilities**

Design and develop skills enhancement strategies and practices to support continuous improvement of personnel necessary to meet/exceed business and organizational goals and to be successful in meeting industry and competitive challenges .
+ Provide oversight and work direction for apprenticeship programs, continuing technical training, and instructional staff. Support continuous improvement of field staff to meet/exceed organizational goals.
+ Fully utilize business processes (scorecard, marketing strategies, manufacturing-analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation) and project management in implementing training.
+ Consult with customer to identify business needs and objectives. Provide customer contact for all training services, products and programs.
+ Design and maintain effective testing instruments and perform statistical analysis to quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate overall effectiveness, cost benefit and ultimate bottom line impact of the training/consulting product or service provided.
+ Perform technical and process improvement consulting.
+ Meet continuing technical and instructional requirements by adhering to Training Process Procedures.
+ Coordinate and facilitate special projects.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Education, or technical field related to the subject(s) in which the individual will provide instruction is preferred, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge (specialized trade school, instructor certification, military training, journeyman training) is required.
+ Five years of training experience or equivalent technical work experience related to subject area of instruction.
+ Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and application of adult learning principles.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to effectively use Microsoft Office applications.
