ARC Group is seeking a Buyer for a Fortune 500 hospitality leader. This is a long-term contract role with the potential for extension or permanent hire, based on-site at our client's Miami, FL headquarters. We are looking for candidates with 3+ years of procurement experience, preferably in a technical or marine environment.
In this role, you will source and procure goods and services to support technical marine operations and/or projects. You will collaborate with shipboard and shoreside teams, validate specifications, and identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring timely delivery. This position requires handling a high volume of orders and leveraging strong problem-solving, negotiation, and coordination skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities for the Buyer, Technical Projects:
- Review and clarify requisitions for goods/services with requestors.
- Source and negotiate pricing, terms, and alternatives to meet operational needs cost-effectively and on time.
- Evaluate proposals and recommend purchases based on price, availability, delivery schedules, and quality.
- Partner with shipboard/shoreside personnel, suppliers, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor supplier performance for service quality, compliance, and cost competitiveness; resolve performance issues as needed.
- Process urgent orders to meet USPH and USCG compliance, securing approvals and transportation documentation promptly.
- Manage contract orders in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
- Research and resolve delivery failures, discrepancies, and invoice disputes.
- Provide regular status updates to customers on open orders.
- Occasionally travel to ships, suppliers, or project sites for inspections, audits, and loadings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and departmental objectives.

**The Role**

Manages all projects related to ongoing open technical concerns related to Subaru vehicles. Monitors all incoming field reports including electronic Quality Monitoring Reports, claims, Technical Helpline cases, Customer Advocacy Department cases, District Service Quality Manager reports, 2/10 cases, and Key Retailer Contact Reports to identify new and developing quality trends. Compiles all related data into usable models for use by Subaru of America, North American Subaru Inc. / Fast Action & Solution Team, Subaru of Indiana Automotive, and Subaru Corporation to speed identification of the root cause behind the trend. Enters SBR Technical Reports to provide flag-up to SBR on newly identified quality trends. Works with the Field Quality Assurance Analysis Manager and FQA Manager to improve/create Information Technology reporting to identify quality concerns related to the body electrical system. (Body Electrical Team).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages staff in effectively mining data from multiple systems, groups and defines relationships, and develops data models illustrating trending and possible interrelated concerns.

Serves as a focal point to bring together, coordinate, and track current status of technical information and investigations being conducted by District Service Quality Managers (DSQMs), North American Subaru, Inc. SUMMARY
Manages all projects related to ongoing open technical concerns related to Subaru vehicles. Monitors all incoming field reports including electronic Quality Monitoring Reports, claims, Technical Helpline cases, Customer Advocacy Department cases, District Service Quality Manager reports, 2/10 cases, and Key Retailer Contact Reports to identify new and developing quality trends. Compiles all related data into usable models for use by Subaru of America, North American Subaru Inc. / Fast Action & Solution Team, Subaru of Indiana Automotive, and Subaru Corporation to speed identification of the root cause behind the trend. Enters SBR Technical Reports to provide flag-up to SBR on newly identified quality trends. Works with the Field Quality Assurance Analysis Manager and FQA Manager to improve/create Information Technology reporting to identify quality concerns related to the body electrical system. (Body Electrical Team).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages staff in effectively mining data from multiple systems, groups and defines relationships, and develops data models illustrating trending and possible interrelated concerns.
- Serves as a focal point to bring together, coordinate, and track current status of technical information and investigations being conducted by District Service Quality Managers (DSQMs), North American Subaru, Inc. (NASI) / Fast Action & Solution Team (FAST) Quality Monitoring Reports (QRAs), and Technical Helpline (Techline).
- Coordinates and takes lead with DSQMs, NASI / FAST, Subaru Corporation (SBR), and Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) to gather additional details of developing technical issues and discusses early countermeasure implementation.
- Understands and communicates well within Japanese culture / environment.
- Brings non-technical customer and retailer issues, including design issues reported, to the attention of appropriate parties by working with NASI Field Safety and Compliance (FSC), Parts Department, Product Management Department, Customer Advocacy Department (CAD), and Subaru of America (SOA) executive management. Understands the scope of data necessary to effectively communicate potential quality issues to responsible parties who can affect current production and future product targets.
- Presents technical updates to various groups in the field about the current technical project status and projected completion targets.
- Partners with Field Quality Assurance Analysis (FQAA) and Field Quality Assurance (FQA) Manager with improving existing Information Technology (IT) reports and the creation of new IT reports to monitor emerging quality trends in Subaru products.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in periodic quality improvement meetings.
- Communicates with various levels of manufacturing and engineering that are responsible for service-related and product quality matters.
- Remains prepared and capable of being called upon to serve as corporate representative for legal cases.
- Reviews manufacturer recommendations for field implementation of quality improvements, provides feedback on procedures, and evaluates effectiveness.
- Attends retailer visits with DSQMs to gather firsthand product quality feedback on concerns in and out of warranty.
- Assists with port or other vehicle rectification activities and participates in Customer Acceptance Program (CAP) drives or other quality assurance- (QA)-related activities, as needed.
- Manages and prioritizes multiple projects concurrently.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize while working in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Excellent analytical and computer skills (particularly Microsoft Office with particular focus on Excel).
- Strong knowledge of all Service Department functional areas, as well as other departments involved with product matters that affect short- and long-term quality and customer satisfaction issues.
- Ability to understand and communicate well within Japanese culture / environment.
- Working knowledge of Japanese language Preferred
- Subaru Senior Master certification or other manufacturer similar certifications, Required and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Automobile & Light Truck Certifications (A1 - A8) - Master Automobile Technician, Required.
