The Laser Applications Technician/Engineer in the Applications department is a machine expert who is responsible for operational customer support as well as technical support to our sales staff. Customer support duties include teaching operator training classes both at the company and the customer's facility, customer phone support, and on-site applications process development. Sales support duties include conducting machine demonstrations for customer visits and trade shows; processing machine samples for potential new customers; and developing cutting technology for new machine models.
Job Description
Customer Support:
+ Provide operational and technical support to customers.

Working Conditions
The Laser Applications Technician/Engineer is a full-time position requiring occasional overtime. If you are based in the Elgin, IL area, it requires the ability to travel 75% throughout North America. 100% of travel and residency no more than an hour from a major airport (45 minutes or less preferred) are required for those who are not located in the Chicago area. This position reports to two Applications Managers.
Skills & Qualifications
+ A minimum of 3 years of experience working with CNC controlled manufacturing equipment is required, preferably lasers.
+ A two-year technical degree in Lasers, Electronics, Robotics, Manufacturing or similar is required.
+ A four-year degree in an engineering or science program is preferred but not required.

The Manager, Technical Sales is responsible for leading a high-performing team of Technical Sales specialists, supporting the technical and consultative sales process that enable our company's mission and objectives.
This position reports to the Vice President, North America Sales and is part of the Commercial organization, as a manager for the Technical Sales team. Located in Fargo, North Dakota and will be fully remote.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Team Leadership & Development: Hire, train, and manage a high-performing team of Technical Sales Specialists. Set clear goals, drive performance, and serve as an escalation point for complex client issues.
+ Technical & Consultative Sales Strategy: Design and execute solution-based sales strategies that leverage scientific insights and competitive intelligence. Partner with commercial teams to ensure scientifically informed client engagements and identify growth opportunities through market analysis.
+ Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with key clients and scientific key opinion leaders. Act as a trusted advisor by understanding client workflows and tailoring solutions to meet strategic needs.
+ Industry Representation: Represent Aldevron at conferences and trade shows as a scientific expert, promoting our capabilities and thought leadership.
The essential requirements of the job include
+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Engineering) or equivalent work experience. MSc or PhD preferred.
+ A minimum of 2 years of experience in scientific and/or sales leadership, with a strong background in the CDMO and/or cell and gene therapy space.
+ Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales strategies and achieving sales targets.
+ Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Ability to travel; Travel may include (but not limited to) customer or in-person team meetings up to 30% of your time; this may change as client expectations change.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Drug Development sales cycle and regulatory approval framework (FDA)
+ cGMP manufacturing

**Summary**
The **Solutions Specialist** coordinates various departments and external contacts to provide cost-effective custom weighing solutions that meet or exceed customers' expectations. This position will help maximize the market share and profitability of the Fairbanks Scales product lines.
**Essential Job Duties**
+ Estimates project costs, consults, and provides timely and effective communication during a project with multiple internal groups at all levels of the organization including sales and engineering on technical matters, ensuring the feasibility of proposed solutions.
+ Participates in needs analysis and information gathering meetings with Sales, Service, Distribution, and customers as required to help define the best customer solution.
+ Supports all industrial and other products that are designed, built, shipped, or sold out of the company's manufacturing facilities.
+ Provides outside vendors and contractors pricing on modifications to existing products and products not carried in our system.
+ Evaluates existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggests changes to meet customer requirements.
+ Works with engineers and other departments to resolve problems that arise during and after product implementation.
+ Produces reports and analyzes data to track product trends, profitability, and close rates of special products.
+ Participates, develops and may conduct user training.
+ Completes required training as assigned.

+ Associate's degree in business or a related technical field or equivalent experience is preferred.
