The Technical Specialist will play a key role in supporting our mudlogging systems, data acquisition software, and hardware platforms used in drilling operations. This position involves assisting field personnel, performing remote system diagnostics, configuring data systems, and ensuring smooth integration and operation of our technology solutions.
This is a remote position with occasional travel to field sites or customer locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance for software and hardware systems, both remotely and onsite.
- System Configuration: Set up, calibrate, and maintain mudlogging and data acquisition systems for optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve system or network issues in collaboration with software engineers and field technicians.
- Testing & QA: Assist in testing new hardware and software releases to ensure reliability and compatibility.
- Documentation: Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Training: Provide technical training and support to field personnel and clients on the use of data acquisition tools and systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and software development teams to identify and implement system improvements.
- Data Analysis Support: Ensure accurate data transmission, storage, and retrieval within the company’s systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend process improvements and assist in implementing automation or optimization initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Geoscience, or a related technical field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 1+ year of experience in a technical support, field service, or systems integration role.
- Strong understanding of hardware/software systems , networking , and data acquisition technologies .
- Experience with Windows/Linux operating systems and remote desktop tools.
- Familiarity with industrial sensors , data logging , or real-time monitoring systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Knowledge of SCADA , PLC , or IoT-based systems.
- Familiarity with database management (SQL, NoSQL) and data visualization tools (Grafana, Power BI).
- Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus, MQTT).
- Basic scripting or programming experience (Python, Shell, or similar).
