Assume full responsibility for field testing prototype equipment and building long term relationships with strategic customers. Strong communication with design engineering personnel, equipment operators, farmers and other involved persons throughout the development process. May also assist in Lab Validation, perform equipment updates or rebuilds, and evaluation of competitive equipment (company or customer owned).
**Your Impact:**
+ Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition and appearance. Ensure security of assigned equipment as required for validation process
+ Ability to make field modifications to prototypes independently or through instructions from design engineering group
+ Report accurate test observations, results, part failures, performance data, functional and reliability issues, and recommend improvements
+ Assist engineering personnel in identification and resolving potential safety hazards
+ Inform engineering personnel of industry developments, trends and observations, based on interaction with cooperators
**Your Experience and Qualification:**
+ 4-year technical/bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited university with an emphasis in AG, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field/technical experience in testing of AG or off-highway equipment
+ 1+ years of field/technical experience in testing/operation of agriculture or off-highway equipment
+ Must be self-motivated and can travel extensively (vehicle and airplane)
+ Clean driving record with Strong mechanical aptitude and Agricultural experience/background
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey test results, root cause analysis, new strategies, processes/approaches to a variety of internal audiences. Experience troubleshooting including CAN-BUS systems, mechanical systems, and electrical systems highly desirable

Role Overview: As a Technical Lead within the Validation, Tools, Acceleration (VTA) team under the Simulation, Evaluation, and Data organization, you will be a senior individual contributor building and optimizing the infrastructure and required technology for all testing and evaluation workflows, including building and optimizing data processing pipelines for large scale analysis. Your role will include defining and shaping the technical vision and strategy to ensure alignment with broader company objectives, designing and implementing systems to support AV / ADAS development. You will drive software engineering best practices within the team and develop tools that promote these standards company-wide.

About the Organization : Validation, Tools, Acceleration (VTA) team builds world-class testing and analysis related products and technologies to enable GM to accelerate development of autonomous vehicles. Our customers range from AV developers who need to understand the effects of their code on vehicle behavior, data engineers who use our data pipelines to build the craziest insights for various evaluation needs, to the release team who track top-line performance metrics on releases. VTA aims to deliver intuitive user experiences for robotics and AI engineers that accelerate GM towards a driverless future. VTA is building the core infra and architecture to support testing at scale. Your Skills & Abilities :

**Remote:** This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of (Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford or Mountain View), you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.
**Role Overview:** As a Technical Lead within the Validation, Tools, Acceleration (VTA) team under the Simulation, Evaluation, and Data organization, you will be a senior individual contributor building and optimizing the infrastructure and required technology for all testing and evaluation workflows, including building and optimizing data processing pipelines for large scale analysis. Your role will include defining and shaping the technical vision and strategy to ensure alignment with broader company objectives, designing and implementing systems to support AV / ADAS development. You will drive software engineering best practices within the team and develop tools that promote these standards company-wide.
**About the Organization** : Validation, Tools, Acceleration (VTA) team builds world-class testing and analysis related products and technologies to enable GM to accelerate development of autonomous vehicles. Our customers range from AV developers who need to understand the effects of their code on vehicle behavior, data engineers who use our data pipelines to build the craziest insights for various evaluation needs, to the release team who track top-line performance metrics on releases. VTA aims to deliver intuitive user experiences for robotics and AI engineers that accelerate GM towards a driverless future. VTA is building the core infra and architecture to support testing at scale. As part of this team, you will build the infra and required tech for test organization, test triggering **,** and test analysis workflows and the related data pipelines.

+ Act as technical architect, help define technical vision and strategy, and ensure the technical direction of your team aligns with broader company objectives.
+ Design and implement systems capable of supporting simulating millions of miles of driving every day to predict on-road performance
+ Improve and deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing, and code reviews.
+ Drive software engineering best practices within your team and develop tools that promote these standards company-wide.
+ Develop and oversee top-tier software engineers within a dynamic, fast-paced, and inclusive setting

**Additional Job Description**
**Your Skills & Abilities** **:**
+ BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or equivalent experience
+ A demonstrated track record of building high quality dev productivity tools and a focus on operational execellence
+ Broad exposure to the end-to-end product engineering stack, from frontend to infrastructure
+ Experience with SOA or microservice-based architectures, large scale distributed systems, and common cloud platforms like AWS/GCP
+ Strong organizational and communication skills.
+ Self-motivation and passion to lead, encourage best practices, and constantly improve
+ Familiarity with Python, Go, Node, React or other web development framework/languages
+ PostgreSQL (or similar relational database) and data warehouse technologies like BigQuery or Amazon Redshift.

**Compensation** **:** The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. + The salary range for this role is $186,200 to $285,300. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Job Summary:
The Test Engineer designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. The Test Engineer is also responsible for planning and arranging the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides the test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.
Key Responsibilities:
System Integration and Testing:
+ Develop and implement test plans, test cases, and procedures for system verification and validation.
+ Conduct integration and regression testing to ensure seamless operation of hardware and software components.
+ Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing based on project requirements.
+ Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and support root cause analysis.
Collaboration and Documentation:
+ Work closely with design, software, and hardware teams to identify and resolve integration challenges.
+ Develop and maintain test documentation, including test reports, procedures, and compliance artifacts.
+ Provide technical support for customer demonstrations, field testing, and operational deployment.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
+ Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
+ Support quality assurance initiatives by identifying process improvements and implementing best practices.
Qualifications:
+ Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field or equivalent combination of experience in lieu of degree.
+ Experience: 4+ years of experience in system integration and testing
+ Clearance Requirement: Secret
+ Minimum Skills Required:
+ Experience designing, developing, and implementing test methods and test equipment.
+ Ability to plan and coordinate testing schedules, labor, and equipment for both standard and specialized devices.
+ Strong understanding of test parameters, test specifications, and quality standards.
+ Skilled in compiling and analyzing test data to identify required changes in equipment, procedures, or processes.
+ Hands-on experience conducting functional, performance, and special-purpose testing.
+ Ability to work with cross-functional teams to support product evaluations and ensure test coverage.
+ Preferred Skills:
+ Familiarity with automated test systems and scripting for test automation.
+ Experience in a manufacturing or R&D environment supporting test development for complex hardware systems.
+ Knowledge of statistical analysis tools or Six Sigma methodologies for test process improvement.
+ Background in writing or reviewing test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
+ Previous work in customer-facing test support or custom test development.
+ Exposure to regulatory or industry compliance standards related to testing (e.g., ISO, MIL-STD).
Work environment/Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to work in a lab, manufacturing, or field testing environment with occasional exposure to industrial settings.
