As an **EHS Engineer** , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
+ Actively supporting EHS Cultural Excellence through personal responsibility for safety, health, and environment, promoting a culture to address incidents, near-misses and potential hazards.
+ Taking ownership of plant EHS programs including but not limited to: Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Environmental Compliance, Machine Guarding, Incident Investigation, Confined Spaces, Flammable Liquid and Static Safety, Plant Safety Training Program, and First Aid Responders.
+ Interpreting, implementing, coordinating, and maintaining the regulatory compliancy rhythm to assure completion of reporting and recording for applicable Federal, State, and Local Environmental Permits, regulations, and programs.
+ Supporting workplace incident investigations and root cause analyses to determine appropriate corrective actions and conducting assessments of high hazard processes in order to reduce risk.
+ Completing internal and external EHS compliance reports and analyze EHS data and report trends.
+ Implementing on-going industrial hygiene chemical/noise exposure and assessment and monitoring plans while utilizing the 3M work check tool and systems.
+ Providing EHS oversight, design review, and testing of efficacy of exposure control measures including ventilations, administrative controls and personal protective equipment.
+ Leading element audits or assessments (such as ergonomics, ventilation, industrial hygiene, TSCA, etc.)
+ Developing and presenting training packages.
+ Providing technical assistance and guidance to plant by leading or assisting in safety committee teams and meetings, including EHS regulatory interpretations.
+ Providing EHS support in the design and installation of new or modified equipment, industrial automation, and management of change processes.
**Your Skills and Expertise**
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
+ Two (2) years of EHS experience working in a manufacturing/production environment in an environmental, health and/or safety capacity (private, public, government or military environment) including internship experience.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
+ Master's degree or higher in a science, engineering, or EHS discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
+ Experience working in facilities covered by OSHA Process Safety Management Standard (PSM) and engagement with PSM elements and requirements.
+ Experience that included: qualitative exposure assessment and program management experience for chemical exposure and ergonomics.
+ Professional Certification(s) such as: Certified Safety Professional CSP®, or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

+ A 12-week internship program that will challenge and develop your technical, business, sales engineering, leadership, and communication skills - providing insight into a sales career with Trane Technologies.

**What you will do:** ** **
Our award-winning internship program provides you the opportunity to learn more about us while you collaborate with peers across North America. As a Technical Sales Intern you may experience or gain exposure to:
+ Work directly with our industry leading Sales Account Managers and customers.
+ Understand the design, application and sale of systems, controls, parts, and services for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
+ Attend sales meetings; business functions; sales and service calls; customer meetings alongside experienced account managers and mentors.
+ Understand the steps sales engineers take from start to finish on a job and be hands-on in those steps throughout the internship.
+ Gain an appreciation for the importance of the relationship with our customers as you work with them as a daily point-of-contact creating a sense of ownership and importance in the solution-making process.
**What you will bring:**
+ Actively enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering (open to all Engineering areas of emphasis) throughout the entire duration of the summer internship.
+ Candidates must have completed at least their sophomore or 2nd year before the start of the summer internship to be eligible for internship positions.
+ Be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
+ A passion for continuous learning in technical fields, ensuring a solid foundation for understanding and communicating engineering solutions.
+ This posting is for multiple opportunities. Some positions may be remote while others may require a hybrid or onsite assignment at one of our facilities across North America.
+ Possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, ability to provide proof of insurance, and have no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:
+ DUI in the previous 3 years
+ Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Pay Range: $21.00 - $30.00
Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
