? The Role: Assistive Technology Professional (ATP)
As an Assistive Technology Professional, you’ll evaluate and fit patients with customized mobility and rehab solutions—working closely with therapists, physicians, and families to meet each individual's functional goals. You’ll also educate, build relationships, and represent Binson’s in the field as a trusted expert in assistive technology.
? What We're Looking For
Current ATP Certification (required)
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred)
3–5 years of experience in the rehab or assistive technology industry
Ability to perform thorough seating/mobility, assistive technology, and rehab equipment evaluations
Solid understanding of reimbursement and billing for assistive technology
- A compassionate, patient-focused attitude and excellent communication skills

Conduct in-depth evaluations for seating, mobility, and assistive technology needs in collaboration with patients, therapists, and physicians
Recommend and fit custom rehab and mobility equipment tailored to each patient’s functional goals
Educate clients and clinical partners about available technologies and solutions through face-to-face meetings and demos
Build strong relationships with referral sources and grow awareness of Binson’s offerings
Participate in community events, training sessions, and industry shows to represent our brand and expand our reach
Support the delivery, fitting, and usage training to ensure patients receive the best experience with their equipment
Maintain professional, ongoing communication with clients, caregivers, and medical partners

The Opportunity:
Delete The Divide is an initiative led by the County of Los Angeles to empower youth and young adults in underserved communities who are adversely impacted by the digital divide. Impacted communities are geographic areas within the County of Los Angeles where 20.1% to 100% of the households lack internet access. Partnerships have been established with public, private, academic, and community-based organizations to unify efforts in ensuring that members have direct access to training and support services in modern technologies.
The Delete The Divide Internship Program is a paid employment opportunity with the County of Los Angeles. The program is designed for individuals interested in a professional career in information technology or the digital economy. We are pursuing qualified candidates to fill Technology Professional Intern I positions in the following areas of technology:

Positions allocable to the class of Technology Professional Intern I work on a part-time (35 hours per week maximum) hourly basis in information and communication systems. Incumbents of these classes will gain work experience at a variety of public and private sector organizations to progressively develop skills and knowledge in information technology occupational areas.
Incumbents perform Information Technology (IT) related duties under the direct supervision of IT and/or administrative personnel. They receive technical job training and guidance on workplace behavior, competencies, individual responsibilities, and development of information technology skill sets. Typically, interns work on a part-time hourly basis and participate in the program from twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) months based on individual requirements.
Essential Job Functions
Duties include, but are not limited to the following assignments:
Assist in maintaining, posting and updating social media profiles with appropriate and appealing content.
Assist in providing end-user hardware and software support in a help desk and/or community-based environment.
Assist with social media analytics and reporting.
Assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and testing of computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
Assist in providing end user hardware and software support in a help desk environment.
Assist in the development of macros, web pages, and simple modifications to existing software applications.
Assist in coding, testing, and debugging application programs to create new or modify existing business applications and interfaces.
Assist in connecting cables and wires for networks and ensure that they are in good working order.
Assist in maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment.
Assist in the development and dissemination of newsletters, graphics, charts, forms, or handouts.
Provide instructions of basic digital skills training.
Conduct community outreach.
Drive a vehicle to and from work sites, meetings, and training locations.
Requirements
Requirements to Qualify:
Resident of Los Angeles County and a registered member of Delete The Divide*. Must be at least sixteen (16) years old.

License:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
PHYSICAL CLASS: Physical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

Our Assessment Process:
If you meet the requirements, we will invite you to participate in a structured oral interview designed to assess your level of interest and the general ability to perform the duties of the position weighted at 100%. You must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on the assessment in order to be placed on the Eligible Register.
The list of eligible candidates will be used for TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT only. An intern may be employed for a maximum of 12 to 24 months (35 hours per week maximum) which may not be exceeded by combining work in the Technology Professional Intern I & II positions.
Eligibility Information:
You will move through the assessment process and if you pass, we will place your results on a list. We will then invite the highest scoring group to an interview. The list of everyone who passed is valid for twelve (12) months.
Applications will be processed on an as-received basis and those receiving a passing score will be promulgated to the Eligible Register accordingly.
No person may participate in this examination more than once every twelve (12) months; doing so, will result in the rejection of your application.
SELECTIVE CERTIFICATION:
Per Title 5 - PERSONNEL Appendix 1 (Civil Service Rule 11.03) of the Los Angeles County Code, selective certification may be used for some positions requiring special skills and/or training.
Selective certification registers may be prepared for the following language specialties: AMESLAN, Arabic, Armenian, Cambodian, Cantonese, Farsi, Korean, Lao, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. The Department may also prepare selective certification registers by service areas.

General Description:
The ATP’s main function is to successfully secure new Referrals and maintaining existing referral sources. To perform well in this role, the ATP must be effective at networking for power mobility and manual chairs and related accessories, and problem-solving: qualifying prospects with standard probes: committing time and effort to ensure success; close through logical, incremental steps; and be opportunistic to best size opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with therapists and other clinicians to evaluation and provide equipment that meets clients’ needs.
- Holding yourself and the company to high standards of prompt, accurate, friendly service.
- Maintain the great relationships and reputation already established by Capstone Medical with therapists and referral sources.
- Develop new relationships as you grow your territory.
- Provide product demonstration and education to therapists, referrals and others as needed.
