Job Description:

Responsible for design and development of software embedded in high speed data communication devices. This senior engineer will add new capabilities to satisfy industry standards and customer requirements. The individual must diagnose and resolve product problems and adapt existing software applications for new hardware and software environments. Should be capable of formulating an approach to testing a product's features. The engineer will work in a tightly-knit team environment, but they must be capable of functioning effectively without detailed guidance. The engineer should be very familiar with integrating their work into a software project with multiple contributors. The individual should be able to adapt well to changes in projects and requirements. The engineer will interface directly with customers and so must present a patient and helpful image, have excellent communication skills, be able to multi-task and possess excellent debug skills .

The candidate should have a positive outlook on their work, an innovative approach to challenges, and will demonstrate initiative in pursuing the goals of the position and more.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, M.S preferred

• 8+ years of software engineering experience

• Extensive C, C++ programming skills

• Experience working on firmware and device drivers, working closely with hardware and silicon engineers, troubleshooting low level issues.

• Knowledge/experience with software development processes

• Familiarity with programming and troubleshooting in an embedded, constrained system

• PREFERRED:

• Experience with ARM and/or MIPS development and architecture

The annual base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $172,800

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.

Pay Range: The typical pay range for this role is: $144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.

What you'll be doing.

You will be a part of the Consumer VGS Technology organization leading multiple large-scale transformational programs within the contact center application and tools domain. Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.

POSITION SUMMARY

Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have profound technical knowledge, aptitude for logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. As a software engineer on our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality Automation software that meets business needs. You will build highly scalable microservices, event driven systems and real time streaming pipelines. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a deep understanding of software engineering principles.

• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using best practices and design patterns

• Strategic thinking – able to identify a vision along with the plans, which need to be implemented to meet the end goal, evaluating situations, decisions, and issues in the short, medium, and long term

• Analytical thinking - able to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts explore and evaluate them systematically

• Collaborate with various areas of the organization including business partners, product owners, architecture, security mavens, and IT engineering teams to understand business requirements and design specifications

• Conduct research on emerging technologies, design principles, and development frameworks to ensure software solutions remain current, fresh, and future proof

• Provide technical guidance in software design and development activities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 7 years of technology delivery experience in designing, developing, and deploying production-ready systems

• 5+ years of experience working on Azure or GCP Cloud Applications/services (Azure preferred)

• 5+ years of experience with Agile processes, such as scrum, Kanban, and/or the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in designing and building software applications with expertise in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, FastAPI, Go, as well as the following: Relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Azure SQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cosmos DB), Messaging systems like Apache Kafka, MQ etc, and Container Orchestration Frameworks like Kubernetes, Docker etc.

• 3+ years of experience leading software development projects by setting project goals, monitoring progress, tracking milestones, communication with stakeholders regarding project issues, and mentoring junior developers as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Promote proper implementation of SAFe process techniques

• Experience working with distributed teams, working across multiple time zones and geographies

• Strong understanding of delivery practices

• Experience leading large technical programs with responsibility of end to end planning

• Experience working with technology vendors

• Experience in making informed decisions quickly and taking ownership of services and applications at scale

• Comfortable assisting in technical and security audits and ensure audit recommendations are implemented

• Deep understanding of cloud technologies and architecture, software engineering principles such as algorithms, rules, data structures, etc.

• Experience with CI/CD tools like Github, Gitactions, Jenkins, octopus or similar

• Perform unit testing, perform integration testing, and participate in code reviews
