FSDB is a state public school available at no cost to eligible pre-K and K-12 students who are deaf/hard of hearing, blind/visually impaired or deafblind, including boarding and transportation services. FSDB is nationally recognized for its comprehensive educational services, designed for the unique communication and accessibility needs of students. How you will make an impact

The incumbent of this position teaches sensory impaired students in a state-mandated academic program.

  • Conduct and direct student learning experiences using written lesson plans that cover the requirements of the State with regard to the Current Florida Curriculum Standards and course descriptions;

  • Use required instructional materials with fidelity to introduce and develop concepts;

  • Develop and maintain a classroom management program; Identify/develop, implement, use, monitor and evaluate long and short term objectives based on students' IEPs;

  • Analyze and utilize student data to drive instruction;

  • Monitor student progress based on the goals of the IEP, and FSDB and State mandated objectives;

  • Record and report data on individual students, i.e, keep grade books, report cards, progress monitoring reports, incident reports, interim reports, attendance records, etc;

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Teacher to join our team of Parent Education Instructors!

As an Instructor, you will teach classes using the curriculum provided by our organization. Your goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and provide parents with the tools they need to help their children reach their full potential.

The ideal candidate:

  • Bilingual: Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Teaching experience: Technology, STEM, Coding and Robotics a plus
  • Responsible and reliable individual

Responsibilities:
  • Present workshops for parents and families at the assigned school sites
  • Assign homework
  • Take attendance
  • Grade assignments and provide feedback
  • Track students progress and document for the regular classroom teacher
  • Report behavioral incidents
Qualifications :
  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • Previous experience as a substitute teacher is preferred
  • Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
  • Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Experience in the following areas:
