Position Summary: Our Equipment Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing preventative maintenance, electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and installation of various semiconductor fabrication machines.
Responsibilities:
• Dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating and repair manuals.
• Use test and diagnostic equipment to identify root cause problems and put corrective actions in place.
• Perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance duties on production equipment.
• Complete and maintain required documentation for quality standards.
• Rebuild equipment and sub-assemblies as required.
• Perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.
• Participate in Maintenance or cross-functional teams such as 5S+ and CIP.
• Take ownership of small projects and equipment assembly tasks
• Work with outside vendors as required
• Process chemical and gas handling
• Maintains critical spares and consumables inventory.
The job also requires performing other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Education: 2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training / work experience.
Experience and/or Training:
• 2 years experience in a maintenance manufacturing position
• Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation
• Ability to define, initiate, manage, and execute on projects to improve tool function and metrics. The ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, prioritize tasks, and plan for maintenance is essential
• Fluency in English Language - written & verbal
Technology/Equipment: Competent with Windows OS interfaces, MS office suite.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
• Ability to work 12 hours shifts
• Ability to work with and around chemicals
• Wear complete fab attire for an entire shift and meet all safety and cleanroom requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
High School Diploma or GED
2 year technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience in electrical or mechanical field
Prefer 5 years of mechanical experience with pump and pump seal installation, troubleshooting, and rebuilds, valve installation, troubleshooting, and rebuilds, process instrumentation installation, set up, and troubleshooting, industrial equipment lubrication, electric motors, belt drives, chain drives, gear drives, bearings, couplings, clutches and brakes
Able and willing to work mandatory overtime as required.
Experience reading engineering drawings and industrial equipment manuals
Experience with lifting equipment, hoists, rigging, and slings
Baseline understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Able to lift 50 pounds
Be continuously on feet, stand for up to 12 hours a day
Able to walk up and down stairs
Work in varying temperatures and climates
Technical and computer knowledge

Acara Solutions is hiring multiple Equipment Maintenance Technicians for our client in Tolleson, AZ Pay: From $25-33/hr Hourly DOE Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Day and night shifts available (12-hour shifts, compressed schedule) 12 hour rotating shifts available:
- A shift: Sun-Tues, every other Wednesday - 5:45 am to 6pm
- B shift: Sun-Tues, every other Wednesday - 5:45 pm to 6am
- C shift: Thurs-Sat, every other Wednesday - 5 :45 am to 6pm
- D shift: Thurs-Sat, every other Wednesday - 5:45 pm to 6am
Duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify potential issues and prevent breakdown
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical problems in a timely manner to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules to minimize downtime and prolong the lifespan of equipment
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritize tasks based on urgency and severity
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot complex technical problems and implement effective solutions
- Install, adjust, and calibrate machinery and equipment to troubleshoot complex technical problems and implement diagnose mechanical, electrical problems and implement appropriate solutions to address them effectively
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and departments to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and installations
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems to restore functionality and ensure operational efficiencies
- Operate hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment, safely and proficiently during maintenance activities
- Document maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and any additional recommendations for future maintenance or upgrades
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or damage to property during maintenance operations
- Collaborate with other team members, including supervisor, technicians to coordinate maintenance efforts and achieve departmental goals
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with strong problem-solving skills, preferably honed in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment with multiple priorities
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Proven experience in maintenance, repair or facilities, management, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical
- Familiarity with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance techniques
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines accurately
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and communicate maintenance updates or issues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, equipment, or maintenance procedures as required
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, lift objects and work in various environmental conditions

We’re looking for a proactive and technically strong Equipment Maintenance Technician to lead our Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiative — a high-visibility role with direct impact on equipment performance, production uptime, and team culture.
At Sea Bird, we build precision instruments used in oceanographic and freshwater research. This role supports the team responsible for calibrating those instruments by maintaining the equipment and machinery used in the calibration process . You’ll be the go-to expert for keeping our calibration systems running smoothly—ensuring they’re reliable, efficient, and ready for daily use.
In this position, you'll be responsible for influencing and coaching others to maintain high standards. While you won’t have direct reports, you'll be a key leader in shaping daily routines, promoting equipment care, and driving long-term reliability in our calibration systems.
What You’ll Do

Lead our TPM program , setting and implementing standards to improve equipment efficiency and uptime.

Hands-on troubleshooting and repair of complex calibration systems involving electrical, mechanical, compressed air, plumbing, and thermal systems.

Perform and document preventative maintenance and daily equipment checks .

Train and influence other technicians to build a culture of ownership, cleanliness, and accountability.

Monitor and report on system performance and drive continuous improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) .

Support the setup, validation, and optimization of new calibration equipment and processes.
