**Job Purpose**
Assists with management of branch to ensure equipment rental and sales services are executed in the most effective manner with high quality standards, identifies area of maintaining and improving its competitive position as well as the profitability of location.

**The Job:**
+ Design and develop electronic firmware and specifications for power tools including Brushless DC motor controls, Li-Ion battery management systems and battery chargers.
+ Implement and validate electronic designs through software development, test and simulation.
+ Develop software verification and validation procedures using unit and integration tests.
+ Provide leadership in achieving cost, performance and quality objectives of all related electronic systems, components, and sub-assemblies.
+ Develop solutions for electronic system related issues as an integral member of a larger team.
+ Maintain appropriate documentation for work performed.
+ Translate customer requirements into software specifications.
+ Embrace cross functional teamwork.
**The Person:**
You love to learn and grow and be acknowledged for your valuable contributions. You're not intimidated by innovation. You also have:
+ BSEE, BSCS, BSCE or equivalent (4 years) from accredited computer/electrical engineering college
+ Knowledge in developing embedded 8bit/16bit/32bit microcontrollers in C.
+ Experience with ARM architectures preferred.
+ Experience with assembly language coding is a plus.
+ Understanding of common microcontroller peripherals such as: timers, GPIO, watchdog, ADC, UART, DMA.
+ Strong understanding of embedded software concepts, including: real time processing, process scheduling, cooperative multitasking, interrupt processing, race conditions, RTOS.
+ Familiarity with closed loop control and feedback systems, lithium ion battery powered systems and/or common motor control techniques, including sensored and sensorless trapezoidal control is a plus.
+ Familiar with software development processes and controls (static analysis, distributed version control, unit testing, bug tracking).
+ Experience with debugging (either with in-circuit debugger or by other means)
+ Ability to discover and implement creative or innovative ideas and inspire others to do so.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence the organization and to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
+ Foster and maintain a high level of integrity in all aspects of work.
+ Ability to travel and interface with overseas electronic contract manufacturers and provide technical direction to obtain quality electronics assemblies for tool production.

This role is responsible for application support for high speed amplifiers. Key responsibilities include:
+ Answer customer questions and supporting design-in activities for released products. This includes:
+ Forum and email questions from customers
+ Schematic and Layout Review of customer application
+ Debug of customer problems by re-creating issues in our evaluation boards and/or customer boards
+ On-site support for customer board as required
+ Design EVM and internal evaluation boards to support correlation and evaluation activities of new products
+ Create user guides, test procedures and proper release of EVM boards for customer consumption
+ Participate in datasheet review to ensure completeness of datasheet being developed by the Systems Engineer
+ Perform Bench Characterization for High Speed Amplifiers devices, including bench automation, hardware design and develop test techniques
+ Participate in new silicon testing from an application perspective to ensure robustness of the product (i.e. destructive testing)
+ Work with systems engineer to provide support to early design in activities for new products
+ Create custom reference designs targeting relevant applications to be used as customer implementation ideas
+ Write application notes that explain different use cases, implementation and/or flexibility of our products

**Minimum requirements**
+ Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, or related field
+ 2-3 years of relevant experience
+ Experience in applications support of analog products
+ Solid hardware and software debugging skills
+ Strong technical background, with the ability to produce high quality technical documentation
