**When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you're making a difference in people's lives.**
Obtains and manages all mandatory medical documentation required for each of the 500 plus patients scheduled for surgery each week. Obtains and transcribes surgeons' orders indicating tests and/or procedures required for the 225 plus patients per week who are scheduled for a PAT clinic visit prior to their surgery. Interacts extensively with staff in PAT, PreOp, surgeons' offices, surgical
scheduling, Medical Records, other departments within the medical center and various personnel and facilities external to the Medical Center. Schedules pre-admission testing appointments and phone calls for patients either coming to the clinic or receiving a pre-screening call.
**Job Description:**
**Essential Responsibilities:**
1. Reviews the operating room schedules throughout the day to check for cases that have been added cancelled or have changed location. Submits completed charts to Anesthesia for review so they can determine if a patient can be cleared for surgery. Reviews chart and surgical schedule for errors.
2. Conducts follow-up telephone calls to the surgeons' offices regarding missing medical documentation or documentation that was received with missing or out-of-date elements. Documents all medical information received into the computer system accurately and in a timely manner.
3. In the absence of surgeons' order, calls to request from surgeon's office . Submits completed charts to Anesthesia for review and awaits clearance for surgery. Performs final check of chart and surgical schedule for errors. Completes Communication Sheet, notes issues or special instructions and attaches to patient chart for Pre-Op/OR clinical staff review.
4. Organizes all medical information until a patient's file is accurate and complete and a medical chart can be assembled. Manages the patients' completed medical charts which will be used in clinical practice activities in Pre-Admission testing, Pre-Op and the Operating Room. Contacts primary care physician, nursing home etc. to obtain missing or correct erroneous patient information.
5. Tracks historical medical records, including recent admissions, utilizing the computer systems and following the Medical Records' department procedures.
**Required Qualifications:**
1. High School diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
2. 1-3 years related work experience required in healthcare setting.
3. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet daily, non-negotiable deadlines.
4. Successful completion of on-the-job training in practices and procedures of Pre-Admission Testing.
5. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

- Support Drug Product Complaint management; forwarding to respective drug product manufacturing site and coordinate with corporate QA for investigations.

- Assist with review of Quality Agreements.

Role Overview:
The QA Associate is responsible for providing document support for the business unit's quality systems. This includes following and enforcing required guidelines and SOP's for all controlled document completion and assist in the processing of controlled documents in the company's approved document management system following current GMP procedures and practices. The QA Associate will also provide support during regulatory agency and client audits.
Core Responsibilities:
- Issue batch and cleaning records to Production for processing and audit executed records.
- Accurately maintain Document Control databases as necessary.
- Provide support to Quality Assurance during regulatory agency audits.
- Provide internal customers with knowledge regarding Quality Assurance practices while following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
- Initiate and conduct necessary investigations and corrective actions as appropriate.
- Ensure that all test results meet established specifications before either raw material, in-process materials or finished drug substances are "released".
- Prepares CoA/CoT in accordance with test results.
- Print, review and reconcile shipping labels as required.
- Perform visual inspections as assigned.
- Provides support to various programs, i.e. environmental monitoring, retains, pest control, annual gas qualification, water monitoring.
- Perform lab and manufacturing floor walk through to ensure compliance with quality standards as required.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality, or related discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in API manufacturing in an FDA/DEA regulated environment
- A basic understanding of Microsoft Office products
- Strong technical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all departments
- Ability to exercise sound discretionary judgment, prioritize multiple competing tasks, and work with minimal supervision.
