The technician's job is to understand and meet the requirements of transportation testing based on ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) protocols and ASTM standards. The technician will work on customer support, quality investigation, comparison benchmarking, and innovation projects by performing physical tests on materials, analyzing data, and writing reports. To be successful, the technician will have passion and drive for hands on testing and analysis with a strong attention to detail to provide accurate results and conclusions. The technician will report to the Transportation Test Lab engineer at the GP Innovation Institute ® .
A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
- Review and understand project scope, test objectives, required test methods, equipment procedures, pass/fail criteria, and timelines.
- Work directly with requestors to determine appropriate testing plans that will meet the project objective.
- Perform physical laboratory tests according to industry methods, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Record all data and results in specified formats with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Compile, analyze, and perform statistical analysis on data sets.
- Recognize abnormalities in testing results and follow up appropriately.
- Write detailed reports for the data collected including analysis and recommendations.
- Clearly communicate testing methods, testing results, and conclusions to key stakeholders.
- Work with urgency, self-motivation, and an excellent application of time management.
- Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
- Job function requires the assembly of product into pallet configurations that match customer shipments in order to provide accurate transportation testing.
- The assembly of product mentioned above can require lifting of up to 50lbs as units are built for testing.
- Operating a forklift to receive units and prepare them for testing.
- Manage warehouse storage.
- Observe safety procedures and policies.
- Actively work to improve efficiency in laboratory processes.
- Work well independently and as part of a highly efficient team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science or Engineering discipline; Or an Associate Degree in a Science or Engineering discipline with 2+ years of experience in a related field.
- Experience analyzing data sets and drawing conclusions.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and utilize excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Experience working in a lab and following standard operating procedures for testing and housekeeping.
- Experience with experimental design, laboratory procedures, and writing technical reports.
- Availability to work overtime as the need arises based on projects and customer needs.
- Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Science, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or similar and a minimum of 2 years of laboratory testing experience.
- Packaging Dynamics Professional Certification from ISTA or ISTA related testing experience.
- Experience communicating test plans, test results, and recommendations across all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of statistics including using software packages such as JMP, Minitab, or Power BI.
- Experience developing new test methods.

Responsibilities:- Conduct detailed network, and web application penetration tests
- Perform red teaming exercises to assess the detection capabilities of our security operations
- Engage in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Red Teaming to improve the robustness and security of AI systems
- Facilitate security assessments, and manage the resolution of identified vulnerabilities
- Stay current with the latest security trends, and techniques

- Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, analytical and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork
