**What You Will Do** **:**
+ Provide QA leadership and team management for the laboratory's Sterility Testing Service to ensure cGMP compliance with FDA regulations.
+ Provide oversight of Quality Management System including document management system (MasterControl), equipment management system, material management system, quality event tracking system, internal and external audit program. Institute new electronic programs/systems to streamline workflow of quality management systems.
+ Participate in project management for the construction of the new HVAC system. Oversight of QA activities pertaining to materials, equipment validation, facility CQV, preparation for audits, training program, development of new SOPs.
+ Assist leadership in identifying critical pain points for the cGMP program. This includes forecasting for space requirements, personnel requirements, operation requirement, QA requirements, equipment requirements.
+ Participate in program management of onboarding new global cGMP programs including a laboratory information management system and automated environmental monitoring.

+ Support the maintenance of the CAPA, Deviation, Environmental Excursion, Investigations, and Change Control programs.
+ Support the maintenance of the Internal and External Audit program, with guidance from Management.
+ Track, analyze, and report on Quality Performance Indicators (QPIs).
+ Provides QA support and oversight for the resolution of CAPA, Deviations, Environmental Excursions, and Change Control.
+ Act as QA reviewer for investigations, deviations, and CAPA; with limited approval authority as designated by QA Management.
+ Participates in Internal Audits to ensure continued adherence to internal procedures and industry best practices.
+ Participate in the GMP training of new employees and contractors, as required.
+ Participates in root cause analysis using methods such as Ishikawa diagrams, 5 Whys, comparative analysis, and process flow charting, as required.
+ Identify and drive system improvements, both within Quality Assurance and for laboratory operations, to effectively accomplish the goals or strategies of the Service and to maximize quality and productivity of the Service.

We are searching for the best talent for Quality Assurance Laboratory Specialist-Polymer & Material Testing to join the Quality Assurance Laboratories, located in Jacksonville, FL.

The Quality Assurance Laboratory Specialist has a strong background in material science, process development, formulation and polymerization to ensure the quality, safety and consistency of our contact lens products. The role will require close collaboration with Product Quality Management, R&D Raw materials, Formulations, Manufacturing, QA Operations, Material Supplier Engineering and Supplier Quality to troubleshoot and optimize material and process issues related to our raw materials and final lens products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform formulation, polymerization, processing and evaluation of methyl-polydimethlysiloxane(mPDMS) used in silicon hydrogel monomers, ensuring batch quality for approved use by raw material suppliers

  • Represent the QA Laboratories on cross functional project teams and as hoc committees supporting New Product Introductions (NPI), product quality protocols, polymerization issues and other production issues as applicable.

  • Support non-routine test requests, material assessments and complaint investigations.

  • Work closely with Product Quality Management on critical issues related to monomer, polymerization and process issues.

  • Lead OOS/OOT investigations within the QA Labs and support identified corrective/preventative actions associated from a laboratory perspective (includes initiating, escalating and supporting Non-Conformances and Quality Events.

  • Proactively identifies issues/opportunities in the QA Labs and seeks appropriate actions (EX: procedure/method improvements and instrument upgrades)

  • Mentors junior scientists on new laboratory methodologies, instrumentation and techniques, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.

  • Understands product portfolio and potential process charges that could affect product quality.

  • Supports test method transfers into the QA Raw Materials and Finished Goods laboratories from R&D.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. Focus degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related scientific field is preferred.

  • A Masters degree is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of 4 years of chemistry or related field experience in a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Laboratory environment.

  • Proven experience in polymer synthesis, formulation and process troubleshooting within a Quality Assurance / Quality Control environment.

  • Experience with analytical techniques such as GC, HPLC / UPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis and Refractometer.

  • Ability to interpret complex data and troubleshoot technical issues systematically

  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills

  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to medical devices (e.g. FDA, ISO and GLP)

  • Familiarity with Lean Principles, Six Sigma, Process Excellence and Project Management

  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, to effectively support laboratory documentation, data analysis, and reporting

+ Develop, maintain, and execute end-to-end (E2E) automation tests using Playwright, Selenium (TestNG), or Cypress.
+ Perform regression and performance testing to ensure application stability and performance.
+ Identify and prioritize test cases for automation to maximize coverage of critical functionalities.
+ Debug and resolve automation test failures.
+ Collaborate with development teams to support innovation and CI/CD processes.
+ Work with SQL/NoSQL databases for test data management.
**Skills:**
+ Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress frameworks.

+ Web services testing; familiarity with Rest Assured preferred.
+ Knowledge of Java/JEE frameworks, TDD, DevOps methodologies, and batch processing.
