Job Description:

The L3Harris Communication Systems (CS) segment Tactical Communications sector (TCOM) is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented digital signal process and/or audio engineer who will be a member of a cross functional team with hands on responsibility for all phases of the software development process from requirements definition through integration and testing of completed product. Emphasis will be on digital signal processing for digital communications. Other responsibilities will include system/software analysis, high-level design, detailed design, simulation, implementation, testing and documentation. This position requires the application of principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Experience with digital signal processing (DSP), embedded C++/C, and MATLAB is expected. Essential Functions:

The responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Research, design, develop, modify and evaluate embedded computer software for electronic equipment or other communications systems in conjunction with hardware product development.

  • Deliver the assigned portion of the entire product development cycle in an Agile Scrum environment including system/software requirements analysis, high level and detailed design, implementation, testing, integration, and documentation of embedded software solutions.

  • Determine design approaches and parameters. Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate results.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering discipline with a minimum 4 years of relevant experience developing real-time embedded software in C or C++ (2 years with MS degree).

  • 4+ years experience in full development lifecycle for software projects.

Preferred Additional Skills:

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $83,000 - $154,000. We are seeking a Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join a highly energetic and fast-paced team of skilled engineers that provide high-priority solutions needed by the Intelligence Community in support of critical national defense objectives. We develop and maintain an innovative high-performance distributed signal processing architecture solving significant computational problems in near real time for the mission success of our customers. As a Digital Signal Processing Engineer, you will be deeply involved in transforming device specifications into realized software defined radio solutions. You will influence and elicit use cases and requirements from our customers, as well as support training of fellow team members and government customers. You will join a dynamic team highly adept at solving complex problems with the application of leading-edge technology solutions, empowering decision-makers to make mission-critical decisions.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Directly contribute in the design and development of digital signal processing solutions
+ Be a member of a dynamic, small team where your work immediately contributes to operational products and you will have a strong connection to the impact of your work
+ Engage in field testing and deployment of operational capabilities into 24/7 mission centers
+ Develop an understanding of our processing architecture, system control interfaces, and data products and then use that knowledge to build robust solutions providing meaningful real-world results
