**How You'll Shine:**
The Houseperson serves as a supporting role to the housekeeping team. This role will aid Housekeeper(s) by preparing units for cleaning upon guest departure, in the most efficient and effective manner possible while maintaining the company's expected high quality standards. The Houseperson will be responsible for linen duties of the site, as well as the organization, maintenance and cleanliness of department storage areas. This role will adhere to the company's safety program and maintain Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), including the new Global Harmonized System for chemicals (GHS), regulations.
**How You'll Make an Impact:**
Responsible for constant cleanliness by providing housekeeping throughout the resort and ensuring a clean environment for guests. Assist housekeeping team with upkeep of supplies, deliver linen, paper products and unit amenities, strip and make bed(s), assist with cleaning as needed. Remove trash from units and floors. Coordinate and create linen and amenities bags. Receive, sort, fold, and collect soiled linen. Organize, clean, and maintain stock levels of department storage areas according to company's cleanliness and safety standards. Deliver requested item(s) to guest units (irons, coffee, paper products, kitchen utensils, etc.).

ABOUT UCPIE:
United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire (UCPIE) is a 501 (c) (3) organization incorporated in 1985. UCPIE is an affiliate of over 60 national United Cerebral Palsy organizations providing services to people with developmental disabilities beyond cerebral palsy. UCPIE provides programs and services in the Inland Empire in both Riverside and San Bernardino counties. UCPIE’s mission is to advance the independence, productivity, and full citizenship of people with disabilities. Services provided are for individuals diagnosed with cerebral palsy, autism, down syndrome, epilepsy, intellectual delay, and other disabilities.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Respite worker will provide intermittent, regular scheduled, temporary care, and or supervision for a mutual client of Inland Regional Center and United Cerebral Palsy who resides with a family member or care provider.
This position is for the area of La Quinta.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Provide responsible care so that family stability may be restored or maintained in families with
developmentally disabled members. - Work a minimum of two hours at each respite appointment.
- Follow instructions for the care of clients/consumers and siblings as outlined by parent(s)/guardian(s).
- Assist client/consumer(s) in areas of feeding, dressing, toileting, bathing, grooming, light meal
preparation, etc., as needed. - Use safety precautions at all times when providing care to clients/consumer(s) and siblings.
- Report suspected incidents of abuse to the Respite Program Manager & complete the required
documentation. - Never leave a client(s)/ consumer(s)/ siblings unattended.
- Maintain certification of CPR and First Aid at all times, current copies to be on file in office.
- Adhere to policies and procedures in the employee handbook and respite fundamental training manual.
- Adhere to UCPIE’s Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and all other applicable safety procedures.
- Report any changes in personal information to the respite program manager immediately.
- Complete and submit time cards, mileage, reports, etc., using UCPIE timekeeping and case management software.
- Complete client daily notes and submit to UCPIE administrative offices as instructed by the respite
program manager. - Maintain current information on emergency call forms and submit copy to UCPIE office.
- Return phone calls to the UCPIE administrative team within 24 hours or immediately if an emergency message is received.
- Do not transport client(s) or siblings at any time.
- Continue education through training modules, workshops, annual UCPIE in-house training, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires community driving and visiting families in a variety of home settings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: The employee must have the ability to lift, pull, push, run, and manipulate/use adaptive equipment and patients, which requires strength and gross motor and fine motor coordination. The employee must be able to perform CPR and administer First-Aid. The position requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time (2 to 8 hours per shift). The position requires the ability to operate an automobile and a computer. The employee must be able to climb stairs and provide services in the family’s home environment.
TRAVEL
This job requires daily travel to the client’s home; note travel will not exceed 40 miles unless approved by the Respite Program Manager.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. High school diploma, GED certificate
2. 2 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (experience can be caring for a family member with a disability)
3. Strong written and oral communication skills
4. Computer proficient
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

WHAT YOULL DO
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging; explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
- Prepare images for reading by Radiologist.
- Assist with Medical Assistant duties to ensure optimal patient flow.
- Attend staff and departmental meetings.
- Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.
- Propose improvements to processes and workflows.
- Work autonomously within established procedures and practices.
ABOUT YOU
- Active MD, DO, NP or PA license, board certified or board eligible; family, IM/Peds or emergency medicine.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ER, urgent care or similar setting.
- Ability to consult and treat patients of all ages.
- 1+ year leading others in a healthcare setting.
- Understanding of financial statements and HR business processes.
- Active listener that uses soft skills to build and maintain trusting relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal, time management, planning, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
