Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Director to join our healthcare facility in Baltimore County, Maryland. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and clinical expertise while overseeing our physical therapy department's operations, staff development, and quality of care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of Respiratory Therapy will have oversight and responsibility for the day-to-day management of the TriStar Hendersonville Respiratory Therapy Department. This includes, but is not limited to, training, education, quality assurance, quality control, maintaining adequate supplies and equipment, assisting in staffing and budgetary matters, scheduling, time keeping, maintaining the blood gas laboratory and machines, and evaluation and discipline of staff.

  • American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • NRP, ACLS & PALS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Current RRT – Successful completion of the national advanced practice examinations for the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Director of Respiratory Therapy will have oversight and responsibility for the day-to-day management of the TriStar Hendersonville Respiratory Therapy Department. This includes, but is not limited to, training, education, quality assurance, quality control, maintaining adequate supplies and equipment, assisting in staffing and budgetary matters, scheduling, time keeping, maintaining the blood gas laboratory and machines, and evaluation and discipline of staff.
The Director shall act in accordance with Our Promise values and Code of Conduct approach in all matters pertaining to TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center, HCA, their communities of interest, and customers at all levels.
**What you will do in this role:**
+ Integrate knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum.
+ Rely on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish responsibilities.
+ Act as a clinical and administrative resource to physicians, administrators and others as required ensuring efficient operation of the departments and positive interface with the facility.
+ Direct and evaluate operations concerning patient assessments, therapeutic patient treatments, procedures, diagnostic testing, and reporting of results in accordance with policies and procedures.
+ Maintain all Respiratory equipment and ensure annual preventive maintenance is completed. Recommend new equipment purchases.
+ Maintain department records and statistics.
+ Audit departmental documentation. Complete various hospital audits.
+ Provide leadership in the development of performance standards for all Respiratory personnel.
+ Evaluate and counsel all employees on their performance in a professional and timely manner.
+ Plan and develop educational in-services for the department.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy required; Master's degree preferred.
+ 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role preferred.
+ American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
+ NRP, ACLS & PALS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
+ Current RRT - Successful completion of the national advanced practice examinations for the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
+ Current license by the State of Tennessee as a Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist (LRRT) preferred.

Position Summary:


As a Center Therapy Director/Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for providing treatment programs to restore and improve the physical functions of our patients. You will design programs based on the patient's specific goals to get them back to work and life with dignity and confidence. Administrative Responsibilities:


  • Manage day-to-day clinic operations to ensure compliance with company medical management model.
  • Offer analysis, information and suggestions with the end goal of developing Ancillary service operational policies; determine productivity, production, quality and patient-services procedures.
  • Management and directing staff including physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, chiropractors, acupuncturists and physical therapy technicians
  • Oversee the hiring, training and development of ancillary staff members.
  • Ensure legal and medical compliance and remain updated on regulations at the local, state and federal levels.


Clinical Responsibilities:


  • Assesses the therapeutic and rehabilitative status of the patient and develops an appropriate treatment plan
  • Updates and modifies the treatment plan on an ongoing basis.
  • Uses clinical reasoning in treating and planning, implementing, and monitoring patient progress.
  • Instruct and counsel patients effectively in exercises, home programs, and patient education.
  • Maintain open communication with the patient and referring physician (when applicable) regarding the patient's plan of care and progress.
  • Treat team members, patients, families, and others with dignity and respect.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Requirements:


  • Graduate/Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current California PT license required
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
  • Knowledge of physical therapy office management systems and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Outpatient experience is preferred. New graduates are welcome to apply!
