Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective presentations
Residency in Pacific or Mountain Time Zone strongly preferred.
Ability and willingness to travel 35–50% of the time

**Cell Therapy Manufacturing Science Expert**
The primary purpose of the Cell Therapy Manufacturing Science Expert is to focus on end-to-end process and manufacturing readiness and implementation of cell therapy products and technologies from development to manufacturing within the Berkeley CT GMP environment. This position acts as a crucial link between CMC and manufacturing capabilities. This role requires a deep understanding of cell therapy processes and GMP requirements, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to meet and drive project milestones and deliverables.
**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The primary responsibilities of this role, Cell Therapy Manufacturing Science Expert, are to:
+ **Lead Technology Transfer Projects:** Oversee the development, transfer, and commercialization of cell therapies to the CT MOD facility, establishing an integrated technology transfer and technical support system and process.
+ **Act as Connector:** Serve as a pivotal liaison between CMC&T and Manufacturing Biologics to ensure seamless technology transfer, implementation and lifecycle management (LCM) support of cell therapies into CT-MOD.
+ **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Collaborate with CMC&T, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to align on project goals and deliverables related to cell therapy processes as part of process and GMP/NPI readiness workstreams.
+ **Documentation Management:** Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including (but not limited to): process descriptions, risk assessments, reports, SOPs, plans, protocols, and reports to support technology transfer and lifecycle management support activities for cell therapies. Ensure MFG process documents (EBRs, DEV, CCR, etc.) properly reflect process requirements, definitions and sufficiently emphasize key and critical steps, parameters and attributes.
+ **Risk Management** : Identify potential risks associated with cell therapy processes and implement mitigation strategies, including owning and conducting risk assessments for process, raw materials or other aspects of the process.
+ **Training and Support** : Conduct training sessions for manufacturing personnel on new cell therapy processes and technologies, ensuring training reflects process requirements and compliance.
+ **Lifecycle Management and Process Performance Monitoring:** Provide on floor technical support. Lead and build sustainable technical support team and process. Monitor and analyze process performance post-transfer and throughout regular production, making recommendations for continuous improvement in cell therapy production.
+ **Technical Expertise:** Provide technical expertise for engineering, conformance/validation and GMP runs, troubleshooting, and investigations, serving as a subject matter expert on cell therapy technology transfer processes and best practices. Lead investigations and build teams for sustainable on floor support as needed. Partner with subject matter experts for analytical methods to support parallel method transfer of analytical methods in an integrated strategy with process transfer.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Degree in chemical engineering, bioprocessing science, biological sciences or similar field with biotechnology industry experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, or similar industry environment.
+ Strong experience in the cell therapy modalities (pluripotent stem cells, allogenic cell therapy and/or iPSCs), manufacturing process development, tech transfer, and cGMP manufacturing.
+ Significant hands-on experience in developing, optimizing, implementing, and qualifying cell culture processes according to industry best practices

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $149,000 - $223,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors. A Brief Overview
Performs a variety of clinical lead functions including leading and coordinating the daily clinical operational activities of the unit. Ensures the delivery of quality patient care by holding staff accountable to established patient care and regulatory standards. Interprets policies and procedure to clinical and paraprofessional staff and patients/families. Builds, maintains, and supports a culture that fosters effective working relationships within a safe working environment. Supports the unit by providing quality psychotherapy and education to children and families and conducts clinical assessments when needed. Diagnose and treat patients independently. Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with hospital staff, physicians, community agencies, and professionals. Provides professional presentations, interviews and services that enhance the organization's visibility and reputation in the community.
Essential Functions
- CLINICAL OPERATIONS- Leads the daily clinical operational activities of the unit to ensure that quality care is delivered efficiently to include: • Managing patient flow in coordination with other leads, supervisors and team members • Overseeing the delivery of patient care and coordinating admissions, discharges, transfers and responding to unforeseen events adjusting patient assignments, as needed. • Effectively problem solves to maximize resources to maintain patient flow, quality patient care and open communication between healthcare team members/departments • Ensures clinical documentation is completed in a timely manner • Follows up with team members floating to other areas at least once during the shift. Ensures staff floating into unit are supported clinically, introduced/welcomed as part of the team, and assigned a buddy. • Works collaboratively with leadership in meeting staffing challenges, taking accountability for impact of staffing decisions in own unit. • Ensures that staff has the supplies, equipment, information, and resources needed to provide quality patient care in a safe work environment. • Provides effective training on skills and changes within the industry to new and current employees • Remains current on skills and training. As a Therapy Manager, you will lead and support a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists (PTs), occupational therapists (OTs), speech-language pathologists (SLPs), and therapy assistants in delivering exceptional, cost-effective home health care. This is a field-based clinical leadership role where you will manage and evaluate therapy practice, oversee documentation and compliance, and mentor clinicians across all therapy disciplines. In this role, you will:
- Provide clinical documentation oversight - Evaluate, co-facilitate, and approve therapy documentation to ensure alignment with agency, payer, and licensing board requirements.

The Clinical Pharmacologist is a scientific role that works with the project team to create clinical pharmacology development plans providing a clear strategy towards the right dose to patients. You will also design, conduct, analyze and interpret results from Clinical Pharmacology studies to support decisions at study and project level.
You will ensure state-of-the-art Clinical Pharmacology and Model-Informed Drug Development (MIDD) approaches are implemented to support AstraZeneca's cell therapy pipeline. Working closely with Pharmacometrician colleagues, you will oversee the development and delivery of analyzes that leverage foundational and cutting-edge pharmacometrics modeling techniques, in combination with business domain knowledge, to develop and apply advanced pharmacometrics modeling to clinical projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead clinical pharmacology activities for assigned projects
- Use modeling and simulation to support decision making and dose selection
- Prepare relevant sections of clinical study protocols, reports, and regulatory documents
- Accountable for expert data integration, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of clinical pharmacology results at the study level to support project (project team/governance)
