Key job responsibilities
The position is a Software Development engineering role and the responsibilities will focus on all aspects of software development. The candidate should be proficient in independent end-to-end problem-solving within these areas.
* Technical Leadership & Architecture
* Drive and own end-to-end design, implementation, and delivery of large-scale across Amazon
* Architect scalable, maintainable systems with demonstrable impact on security posture
* Proactively identify architectural challenges and lead cross-team initiatives to resolve complex technical debt
* Make strategic technical decisions that influence long-term roadmap and team direction
* Design for operational excellence with focus on automation, monitoring, and self-healing systems
* Innovation & Development
* Spearhead innovation in enterprise-scale cloud resource management and security automation
* Design and implement real-time cloud intelligence systems
* Create framework-level solutions that accelerate secure development across multiple teams
* Champion software development best practices, including CI/CD, testing strategies, and code quality
* Lead technical design reviews and architecture discussions
* Collaboration & Impact
* Drive technical alignment across Security organizations through effective partnership with principal engineers
* Influence product strategy through close collaboration with Product Managers and stakeholders
* Lead cross-functional initiatives requiring coordination across multiple teams
* Demonstrate thought leadership in security engineering and compliance domains
* Build consensus on technical approaches while managing competing priorities

About the team
The Secure Third Party Tools (S3T) engineering team(TPSE) develops and maintains advanced security solutions to protect customers' data across Amazon's third-party partnerships. We build robust capabilities to establish and enforce security standards for third-party partners (3Ps), while continuously assessing, monitoring, and remediating potential vulnerabilities. Our mission is to elevate and maintain Amazon's security standards, ensuring the highest level of protection for our diverse customer base, including shoppers, Amazon builders, and internal security & compliance teams. Through innovative tools and frameworks, we help create a more secure ecosystem for all stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and experience working in cloud platforms such as AWS
- Experience in an engineering leadership position where you have been the owner of a technical architecture with other engineers working under your guidance.
- Strong business and technical vision.
- Experience in development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications that have been successfully delivered to customers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
