BluZinc is exclusively hiring a remote UAS based Director or Head of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics for a $100MM+ digital eLearning, mobile app, and online coaching business. Reporting to either the COO or CFO.

This remote-based role is ideal for a strategic data leader with experience in BI, analytics, and cross-functional reporting across Finance, Operations, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead BI strategy, data systems, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Deliver actionable insights to improve business performance, retention, and customer LTV.
  • Build and manage a high-performing analytics team.
  • Collaborate closely with CFO/COO on forecasting, KPIs, and financial modeling.

Position Summary

This role will be responsible for building comprehensive data reports and visual dashboards that drive strategic decision-making across our retail operations. The ideal candidate will leverage Sigma Computing and other analytics tools to transform complex data into actionable insights for various stakeholders throughout the organization.



Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reportin g

· Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Sigma Computing

· Create automated reporting solutions for sales performance, inventory management, customer analytics, and marketing effectiveness

· Analyze retail metrics including conversion rates, customer lifetime value, product performance, and seasonal trends

· Develop KPI tracking and performance monitoring systems for key business areas

Business Intelligence & Insight s

· Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Merchandising) to understand reporting requirements

· Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and data visualizations

· Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within automotive retail and e-commerce data

· Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic initiatives

Data Management & Qualit y

· Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting platforms

· Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to optimize data workflows

· Document reporting processes, data sources, and business logic

· Maintain and enhance existing reporting infrastructure

You hav e:

Required Qualificatio ns

· Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field

· 2-4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or similar analytical role

· Excellent data visualization skills with attention to detail and design best practices

· Experience with cloud-based BI platforms (Sigma Computing preferred, or similar tools like Tableau, Looker, Power BI)

· Strong understanding of retail/e-commerce metrics and KPIs

· Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for ad-hoc analysis

· Strong communication skills with ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualificatio ns

· Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation

· Experience in automotive, retail, or e-commerce industries

· Knowledge of statistical analysis and A/B testing methodologies

· Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes

· Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics

· Understanding of digital marketing metrics and customer journey analysis

· Previous experience with inventory management and supply chain analytics

Position Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a dual role in bridging Finance and Data Analytics, serving as a key contributor to our data-driven culture. This individual will be responsible for designing and managing dashboards, financial and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and providing analytical support that drives both business strategy and financial decision-making.


The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Finance concepts, combined with hands-on BI and data analytics expertise.


This role will partner closely with Finance , Sales , Operation s, and Senior Leadershi p to deliver insights that connect financial performance with operational metrics.


This role is a Hybrid/Onsite role seated at our corporate office in Coppell, TX (DFW Region).


Key Responsibilities

Dashboard, Reporting & KPI Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and financial/operational reports in Power BI and Salesforce, enabling visibility into revenue, expenses, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Define, track, and analyze financial KPIs (e.g., revenue growth, margins, cost efficiency, budget vs. actuals) and align them with broader business objectives.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for new dashboards and reports based on business needs and data availability.


Financial & Data Analysis

  • Perform in-depth financial analysis (variance, trend, scenario, and profitability analysis) using data extracted from ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP) and BI platforms.
  • Connect operational data (sales, customer, service metrics) with financial outcomes to provide end-to-end insights.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries to integrate financial and operational data sources.
  • Support ad-hoc financial modeling and provide actionable insights for budgeting, forecasting, and investment decisions.


Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Partnership

  • Work with cross-functional teams, particularly Finance; to understand reporting requirements and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to streamline management reporting and enhance financial planning processes with data-driven insights.
  • Translate complex financial and operational questions into clear BI solutions.


Data Governance & Quality

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial and BI reporting data.
  • Partner with Finance and IT to maintain data governance standards across financial and operational systems.


Documentation & Training

  • Document financial data models, reports, dashboards, and BI processes.
  • Train Finance and business stakeholders on how to leverage BI tools for financial and operational insights.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.


Experience:

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, Business Intelligence, or Data Analysis .
  • Demonstrated ability to connect financial concepts with BI reporting and analytics.


Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Expertise in at least one major BI visualization tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik Sense), with a portfolio demonstrating dashboard and report creation.
  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce data models and reporting , including Salesforce reports, dashboards, and potentially CRM Analytics (Einstein Analytics).
  • Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow reporting and data structures , including Performance Analytics, custom reports, and understanding of ITSM modules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and presentation.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.


Analytical & Communication Skills:

  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to translate numbers into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to present to both finance executives and cross-functional stakeholders.


Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics.
