Penn Line Energy T&D, Inc. is seeking candidates for a Timber Cutter/Vegetation Management Worker.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operates a chainsaw and ATV.
- Performs daily safety inspections on equipment; promptly reports any issues to manager.
- Performs daily equipment fuel, lube, and minor repairs.
- Communicates with manager on maintenance issues and preventative maintenance.
- Reports all safety incidents or violations immediately to supervisor
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, standards and guidelines.
- Complies with all government safety requirements and other regulations.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form.
- Attends all Department and Safety meetings.
- Implements Integrated Vegetation Management activities (herbicide application) and properly mixes, applies, records, and stores herbicides.
- Performs other duties as requested.
- Knowledgeable of timber harvesting, felling trees, operating chainsaw and ATV.
- Ability to carry a 40 lb. backpack sprayer for ten (10) hours/day.
- Ability to work in difficult conditions due to vegetation and topography.
- Ability to work with herbicides, brush cutters, and chainsaws.
- Flexibility in the work week as weather dictates work schedule.
- Plant identification skills are a major plus.
- Previous substantial field experience in this area of work is a plus.

The Department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management invites applications for one or more 9-month, fixed-term, full/part-time Instructors to teach on a term-by-term basis for the academic year.
Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an Instructor position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Department Head.
The department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management comprises a unique group of specialists in forest management, engineering, biometrics, hydrology, forest health, and silviculture working to support decisions for sustainable forests. Our teaching and research emphasize all aspects of active forest management and restoration from regeneration through harvest for multiple land use objectives, including wood production and management for values other than wood.
The mission of the Department is to develop, communicate, and teach the science and engineering necessary for sustainable management of forest, land, and water resources to achieve economic, environmental, and social objectives. Key Responsibilities
100% - Instruction:
+ Develop and/or teach courses in undergraduate and graduate areas in the department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management.
+ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and presenting teaching materials; creating and grading assignments, quizzes, and exams; assessing grades; and holding office hours, as necessary.
+ Teaching assignment will be either on-campus or through E-campus.

+ Master's degree or higher in Forestry or closely related discipline.
