**What you'll do:**
The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for building and repairing all types, sizes, and shapes of jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.
**In this function you will:**
- Operate an array of precision machines, such as conventional lathes, mills, and drill presses, and CNCs
- Determines specifications for inspection of work using precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machining.
- Use various hand tools and measuring devices
- Plans and performs the set-up and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolant, lubricants, and machine feeds and speeds
- Perform various phases of deburring operations
- Monitor work to ensure that the machine is not malfunctioning

- High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required
- Must possess current journeyman's status as a Tool Maker from an accredited tool making apprenticeship program
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

**Responsibilities:**
+ Plan, design, construct, or repair a wide variety of highly intricate and complicated tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to extremely close tolerances.
+ Perform difficult development work and construct tools where no design is available.
+ Select allowances and device mechanism details.
+ Perform highly skilled fitting, adjusting, and timing of tools and machinery.
+ Perform work involving multi-station progressive dies, intricate compound dies of irregular shape, subpress dies for parts of delicate outline, and complex index milling fixtures.
+ Perform any tool room machine operation, including CAD/KEY, CNC lathe, and other technologies required for toolroom operations.
+ Work from complicated drawings and sketches.
+ Use advanced shop mathematics and all types of precision measuring instruments.
+ Apply a high degree of experience, trade skill, and thorough knowledge of machine shop practice.
