The Tooling Engineer will provide technical support and guidance to enhance the die-making process and bolster/retainer quality in and around automation systems and tooling.
Responsibilities
+ Create 3D or 2D drawings from data measured by newly purchased 3D scanning equipment.
+ Utilize skills for measuring product roughness and die dimensions using the newly introduced 3D scanner (training will be provided).
+ Compare the measured 3D scan with the original model to ensure precision.

**Job Description:**
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Tooling Engineer will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will be responsible for directing and coordinating tooling operations to include internal and external tooling repair, PM execution and spare part inventory. Manage NPD, product launches, design and implementation of operational tooling projects, and provide technical expertise enhancing existing designs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Directs and coordinates tooling operations to include internal and external tooling repair, PM execution and spare part inventory
+ Lead tool review meetings to ensure alignment on tool design prior to kick-off.
+ Continuous improvement and sustainability of tooling, equipment and processes within the operations team
+ Develops and maintains a preventive maintenance strategy to track the status of and ensure the maintenance of new tools. Partner with in-house tooling associate to execute basic PM's as-needed.
+ Establishes and maintains internal tooling standards and implements best practices (including designs, components, spare parts, etc.).
+ Troubleshoots production issues where tooling support is needed or requested.
+ Utilizes data to propose refurbishments, updates, modifications, and repairs to tooling.
+ Participates in design reviews to challenge tooling designs, provide direction related to new launch tooling, and attends onsite/offsite (vendor) sampling meetings.
+ Fosters relationships with new and existing tool shops for tooling work.
+ Visits machine shops as needed to coordinate the repair and modification of tools.
+ Provides leadership on tooling initiatives, Supports tool room work as needed with the setup, review or maintenance of tools.
+ Coordinates sampling, metrology, and necessary modifications of new tools.
+ Defines and supports the execution of Tooling IQ, OQ, and PQ efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLSDevelop long and short-term capital plans, ensuring that all projects are planned properly, and the results are achievable.QUAQU:
+ Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience with all type of conventional tool room machineries -- grinding, milling and EDMof hands-on tooling and tooling design experience required.
+ 4-year college degree in related field or its equivalent or 10 years' experience in injection mold making and preventive maintenance.
+ Strong understanding of mold building, raw materials, equipment, and molding techniques required.
+ Ability to mentor, train and develop personnel.
+ Strong experience with high cavitation injection tools required.
+ Possesses knowledge of punch integrated tooling, double shot and insert molding required.
+ Ability to perform mold flow analysis required.
+ Knowledge of calculating press tonnage and cycle times required.
+ Ability to travel up to 10% required.

**Compensation Information:**
This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, market level, other job-related factors, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. As applicable this role will also receive overtime compensation and may be eligible for shift premium compensation.
**Pay Range:** $75,000-110,000

Work Environment
The Tooling Engineer will report to the Vice President and work within the tooling building alongside tooling designers and tool makers. The position requires a commitment of 40-45 hours per week in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment. The engineer will collaborate directly with customers and other engineers to ensure project completion. The company manufactures injection-molded plastic parts for automotive, defense, medical, and consumer/industrial products, and also engages in thermoforming processes. This role involves working on new molds and tooling needed for various projects and customers.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $50.48/hr.

Job Title: Tooling Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Tooling Engineer to join our team, focusing on the repair, maintenance, and enhancement of molds. This role involves participating in teams to identify and resolve mold issues, encompassing all phases of mold repair from quoting to project management. You will be responsible for creating and analyzing sample requests, incorporating engineering changes into existing molds, and reviewing design changes. Additionally, you will maintain systems to meet current quality standards such as SQF and ISO 9000, review and approve tooling designs, and provide technical support to Manufacturing and Quality departments.
Responsibilities
+ Repair, maintain, and improve molds.
+ Participate in teams to identify and resolve mold issues.
+ Manage all phases of mold repair, including quoting repairs and project management.
+ Create sample requests and analyze sample results.
+ Incorporate engineering changes into existing molds and review design changes.
+ Maintain systems to meet quality standards (SQF, ISO 9000, etc.).
+ Review and approve tooling designs.
+ Provide technical support for Manufacturing and Quality.
+ Quote costs and lead times for mold repairs.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with injection molded plastic parts.
+ Proficiency in tooling and fixture design.
+ Knowledge of plastics manufacturing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.
+ Experience with injection mold design and manufacturing processes.
+ 4+ years of experience in a plastics background .
Work Environment
The position is based onsite in Eatontown, with a team of approximately 100 people. You will report to the Director of Operations and spend much of your time on the floor working with mechanics and engineers. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, requiring onsite presence five days a week.
