**About this role**
This role will be based on the San Francisco Equity Trading desk.
The Equity Trading team in San Francisco is part of the Global Trading group within BlackRock Global Markets (BGM) and is responsible for executing equity and equity derivative orders in the Americas. This includes substantial volumes of cash equities, CFDs, listed and OTC derivatives. 
The team supports a range of internal investment teams and products, including index funds, iShares, systematic active, and transition management. Members of the team collaborate with BlackRock portfolio managers, strategists, researchers, and other stakeholders to formulate trade strategies, deliver platform solutions and execution.
**Your** **Responsibilities:**
+ Seek to provide Best Execution across a range of equity and equity derivatives products (futures, ETFs, TRS, convertible bonds) for BlackRock's internal businesses
+ Manage orders and trading workflow in a risk-controlled manner as afiduciary
+ Monitor market activity in areas of specialization and provide feedback to portfolio managers and internal partner groups
+ Support investment teams withmarket color, information flow, and data analysis requests
+ Oversee day-to-day tasks in support of trading activities and as a liaison with trading operations
+ Proactively contribute to improving investment processes to reduce transaction costs and to identify outperformance opportunities
+ Partner with internal eTrading and Trading Research groups to innovate systems, trading analytics, and coordinate implementation
+ Develop and maintain essential external relationships as required for Best ExecutionActively participate in internal and external speaking engagements, showcasing expertise in markets, products, and representing BlackRock's institutional strengths
**Qualifications:**
+ BA/BS or higher degree(s)
+ 5-7 years of relevant equity or equity derivatives trading experience
+ Comprehensive understanding of liquidity and microstructure of equity markets
+ Extensive experience using electronic/algorithmic execution tools
+ Strong understanding of concepts in portfolio-/risk management
+ Demonstrated proficiency with technology across trading systems/platforms (FlexTrader, TradeWeb, and BBG experience preferred)
+ Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with multiple partners and stakeholders
+ Analytical and creative approach to solving complex problems
+ Well organized, disciplined approach to work with a high level of attention to detail
+ Willingness to learn and trade new asset classes and trading strategies
+ Strong work ethic with high degree of self-motivation
+ Data analysis or financial coding skills preferred (Python, R, SQL, etc.)
For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$155,000.00 - USD$210,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. Position is responsible for strategy, analysis, and execution of balance sheet hedging activity. Monitor changes in the economy, markets, and balance sheet. Recommend methods to manage or limit risk. Ensure the alignment of hedging strategy with overall treasury goals, with respect to Net Interest Income and risk exposure management. Work with Middle Office, Operations, and IT to ensure executed trades are confirmed, cleared, and valued effectively and accurately. Assist in hedging the mortgage servicing rights (MSR) asset.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Strong understanding of fixed income markets and an understanding of global macro drivers that relate to bank interest rate risk management
2. Experience with interest rate derivative trading as well as structuring and modeling of derivative structures.

4. Execute implementation of trading/hedging strategies within Corporate Treasury. Work closely with accounting group to ensure hedge accounting compliance where applicable.

6. Carry out post-trade analysis and performance characterization
7. Monitor counterparty exposures and work with capital markets to ensure that overall Truist derivatives activity falls within counterparty exposure limits. Carry out pre-trade analysis to test for potential limit exceptions.
8. Ensure trading group is apprised of important trends in economic data, monetary policy, and market events. Prepare summaries and presentations as needed. Participate and provide input in the daily/weekly/monthly calls and meetings designated to provide trade ideas, market updates, and strategy discussions.
9. Develop a comprehensive understanding of internal and vendor models in production. Actively participate in implementation of new product development and evaluation. Partner with middle office and back office functions to design and enhance trading process flow, solve any trading issues, implement new analytics, and update desk procedures as necessary.
10. Develop and execute strategies to minimize clearing expenses.
11. Ensure accurate and efficient trade execution. Ensure accurate confirmation process, both electronic confirming via MarkitWire and bi-lateral paper confirms. Track positions within Calypso (derivatives system) to ensure that all traded positions are appropriately entered and modeled.
12. Maintain reporting of derivatives positions and activity in support of operations/audit/market risk.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Required Qualifications:

The Financial Trader plays a key role on the Financial Trading Desk with a heavy focus on trade strategy development at the portfolio level, trade strategy execution and risk management, execution for physical asset optimization teams; reports directly to Portfolio Manager (Director - Financial Trading).
# **Job Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Generate and articulate trade strategies supported with proper fundamental and technical support for fixed price/time spreads, options, and basis to the Financial Natural Gas Team
+ Execute approved trade strategies, hedge trades, and physical asset optimization trades
+ Coordinate deal entry/trade capture, position tie-out, risk report monitoring with mid-office
+ Provide end of day position reporting, market and position change summaries to Financial Trading Desk
+ Work with Trading Analysts on the Financial Trading Desk to maximize utility of daily fundamental reports, valuation tools, and strategy decks
# **Job Specific Skills**
+ Well-developed understanding of natural gas fundamentals and physical flows
+ Sophisticated understanding of financial trading instruments (swaps, futures, options, basis, swing swaps, etc.)
+ Entrepreneurial outlook and start-up business mentality to direct individual efforts to maximize the achievement of team level goals
+ Background in math, engineering, science, or finance-knowledge of analytical and statistical concepts is strongly desired

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities
+ Support and cultivate US hard-to-borrow equities trading flow.
